Top 10 high points and observations from the NYCC

Just finally getting a chance to comment.

1. Meeting other members is always a great time.

2. After seeing more of Jay's artwork up close I can't wait for the next graphic novel. I hope the Sea Ghost figure happens.

3. It was cool getting to meet Marty. I can't wait until they uncover the rare UK Dr. Doom figure.

4. It was a pleasure meeting Joe Sena, the guy we don't really know from EMCE Toys.

5. Yankee fans are touchy.

6. Was hanging with Art B while he was signing at the DC booth. He was visited by a young wannabe artist that had an entire sketchbook influenced by his artwork. The experience gave me a new view of the importance comic books can have on the youth of today.

7. After seeing Dave Mc's custom Star Wars figures up close George Lucas blew it and owes us big time.

8. After seeing the NOTLD figures in person I had to have them. They are incredibly well done figures and I'm not a horror fan by any means.

9. Seeing something rare in the galleries and actually holding it in your hand is a way different experience. And it doesn't suck.

Hooking up with Museum members was the biggest highlight for me. Hanging out with Chuck and Ron. Talking shop with Doc. Meeting a few members I hadn't met before. Always the coolest part.

Had the opportunity to chat with Marty during the long walk to the session, which was pretty cool. He's pretty excited about bringing back the Pet Rock, and joked about "everytime I think I'm out, I get pulled back in", but you could tell he really enjoys it.

Saw lots of women in spandex costumes that really shouldn't have been in spandex. When you can see butt dimples (and not the good kind) through the costume, it might be time to consider an alternate disguise. This isn't a highlight, more a general observation.

I dug all the Watchmen stuff around. That was really the big thing in the DC booth with the movie coming. Lots of cool stuff. I want it all.

Dave's customs were definitely one of the coolest things I saw at the show as well.
