    basa peru surprise!

I hope this will be my first direct contribution to the site, I believe it will be of interest for all (at least it produced a lot of enthusiasm to Heath, Bryan and to myself). Until now he had news about that BASA (Peruvian company of toys) produced 3 figures: superman, batman and robin, but it seems that the search will continue; this picture was sent to me by a peruvian dealer, it shows 2 "new" figures: six million dollar man (hombre nuclear in spanish) and lex luthor. Heath, Bryan and I believe that this last one looks more like Jor-el, what do you think?

By the way, "BASA" is a contraction of "BAKELITA Y ANEXOS", S.A. ("BAKELITE AND ANNEXES", COPR.)

      Very VERY Cool.

Do you have one for sale??

(Looks like Lee Majors doubles as Lex Luthor here).

      I want them both!

It's sort of a combo Majors/Brando as Supes dad thing for the Lex Luthor.

I love that big 6 million dollar target on the 6mdm suit. I think I may have to steal that and use it for a halloween outfit or something.

              Hiya Hobub,

              Yes,
I am just commenting on the full front pic. The raised eyebrow (from the action eye on the US version I suppose), sort of gives Lex a Brandoish look from that pasty late 70s period. That and the light hair.

The 3/4 profile of the same head looks much more like the Lee Majors portrait it was taken from.

Wow, great pics, Luis! It's so cool to see some other figures from the BASA line. And it's nice to see what BASA actually stands for. Your first contribution is a winner! Damn, I really have to get some BASA figures.

Wow, what an awesome find. Amazing that after so many years we still discover so much new stuff

Whoa! Very interesting. They wanted to go where Mego couldn't. Wonder they were actually produced.

                    Thanks for sharing. Very cool!

That's a heck of a nice thing to wake up to.

Luis, it's good to finally see you here and thanks so much for the amazing information. Me wantee Steve Austin!

I'm so excited looking at these! What a wonder to behold....

The wide-eyed look of BASA Robin, Superman and Batman is so very different from the Lex, SMDM look. Any ideas about that? Maybe it's just paint application, but it sure does stand out.

                          So, here's the question...

These pics are from a seller in Peru.

Does everyone think Lex Luthor is the correct name of the last character? Or, is he simply guessing?

Sure looks a lot like Jor El to me.

If it wasn't for the fact that Steve Austin's hair wasn't colored, I'd say they were trying to pass off the non-colored hair Lex as "bald". But yeah I think he's Jor-El and not Lex. Add a white Superman "S" to that outfit and it wouldn't be too far off from Jor-El's "executioner" robes from his first scene in the movie.
