    Playset Display Suggestions, Please?

Does anyone here display playsets? I don't know if I've ever seen them in any pictures.

Certain ones might be easier as they have a thinner footprint, but the Hall of Justice, the Treehouses, etc., would be more challenging. If I had my wish, I'd figure out a way to display the box behind it

I'm still a few weeks from setting up my new toyroom, but I'm trying to get ideas.

    Hmmm,
I would guess the more bigger squarer playsets would fit best in the corners of the room.

    For apes
Perhaps get some plywood precut into triangles (to fit into the corners of the room) and think of something to hold the shelves up.... If it's not too high, perhaps on-end cider blocks.
It might look very primative, but but for apes I think it would pass

    Just a thought

Hmmm. The triangle idea is interesting. I'm thinking I might just make one playset display area and rottate them in and out.

Austin has his Wayne Foundation set-up in a display case. You'd have to ask him where he got it. You could certainly fit more in it and it looks great.

Rob had a lot of his stuff on display as well at one time.

I do think the Wayne Foundation might be easier to display because, while rather tall, its really not too wide (from front to back). A case would be great to keep dust off of it.

          Rob, are you listening?

I would sell them all and get some Dida Displays that are specifically designed to be shelf friendly playsets.

They do fit perfectly into Ikea's popular Billy shelves

                Hmmmm....

The ONLY way to display your collection is to build Supercity, and set everything up in and around it.

                ....Supercity....

                ....think about it....

                  Yep, still here.

These are OLD pics of my display, just about 8 years ago.

I'll have to scan the rest of the pictures of the display,
but I had everything set up back then - over 125 figures and almost all the playsets - Wayne Foundation, Hall of Justice, Batcave and all WGSH vehicles, numerous AJ sets, Fonzie's Garage, Oz Emerald City, Munchkinland & Witches Castle, even the Walton's Farmhouse and Country Store, Our Gang clubhouse and vehicles.... yeah, lots of stuff.

The dust got to be too much after a while, and was one reason I took it all down ( you can see the aforementioned dust in the photos, too)

That was a great setup, Rob. The thing that's really making me drag my heels about getting the POTA playsets is that I would honestly have no place to properly display them. It would seem a shame to buy them and then keep them packed away in the boxes.

The only ones I have set up right now is the Star Trek bridge (it fits nicely on one of my Ikea wall shelves) and the Flash Gorden playset (temporarily set up on top of its box, which is sitting on a VCR in my office. "Temporarily" has been nearly a year now though!). I have a Mattel Space 1999 playset that I would love to set up, but it has such a big footprint, I have no where to put it.

Wow! Now that's dedication. Thanks for the shots. It should prove helpful. The space is kind of small, so I think I'll go with the rotating playset. I'm hoping to make a wall of my carded heroes, but we'll see. I've even considered placing a table int he middle of the room and then covering the walls with shelves. You'd have to walk around the table, but it would fit a lot more.
