Does anyone here own Laverne & Shirley Megos ?

    Just wondering,

Does anyone here own Laverne & Shirley and Lenny & Sqiggie Megos ?

    Loose, boxed, whatever

I've been waiting for over 7 years to see real figures in the Museum L&S gallery (rather then an old add) --- Somebody out there in Megoland must own these and can donate pics to the gallery ?

I propose in 2009 one of our goals should be to get nice detailed real photo's in the L&S gallery.

    Anybody second my motion ?

I never understood why they were done as 12" instead of 8" to go along with the Happy Days stuff.

Maybe because they were women, they were geared toward the fashion doll size.

If they were a hit, Mego could have made lots of clothing lines to sell seperately ... Like Cher etc.

        Just a guess.

I read somewhere (probably in the Museum, LOL) that they were originally planned as 8 inch figures and at the last minute they decided to go to a 12 inch line which is why the heads look odd as they were blown up from an 8 inch sculpt. (I've actually never seen one, I'm just going on what I read). I believe there were also separately sold outfits for at least Laverne & Shirley. I'm pretty sure I've seen some on ebay.
Kinda stupid to go to a 12 inch when they were a perfect series to go along with the Happy Days figures.

I own them. Heads do seem blown up,..specially Shirley's. But box does not mention that outfits were available for them,..specially cause if they ever were,..had to be mods from the 50's,..although,..the Maddie Mod outfits of the 70's fit them perfectly as they shared the same body molds. And yes,..they were intended to be 8 inchers,..but Mego was still overstocked with vintage Maddie Mod and Sonny bodies.
