    Found more things in storage

Well, my wife and I had some time to finish dusting and cleaning and looking through my folk's storage room and I did find this goodie that I knew had to be in there. Last time I had been looking through the big boxes thinking that it had to be in there since my childhood mind said that it was much larger than it really is. So, anyway the smaller box had this:

Note the multiple Kirks, in the late 70's I gave one a beard so that he became another crewmember. He has switched shirts with a Scotty with a mustache who is sitting at the helm.
    It's all good!

I also found a bunch of packages that I had kept and for whatever reason my mom decided it was OK to store those away, too. I'll have to go through it all now that I've brought a lot of the boxes and toys home but this was in there, too. It's like having two Christmas days

    It's all good!

Great to have Star Trek figs with Enterprise playset and packages!

I'm glad your mother kept all of them in the storage for you!

Where's your Mego WGSH figs at? I hope you got them, keep looking for them!

My mother can't afford to buy Star Trek Enterprise playset with Trek crew figures for my Birthday or Christmas till end of rear 1982 because of my father told her he don't wanted to spent money often and he's always collecting money in his bank forever!

Screw him and I bought Trek crew and Aliens with Enterprise playset last 4 yrs ago.

This year I re-built my Mego and EMCE Star Trek & Aliens but I need 2 more to finish complete Mego Trek crew line is Mr.Scott and Dr.McCory with all original and complete minty figs came from damaged cards off ebay.

And then next Year 2009 I'll be ready to saving more money then I'll snipe on original Mego Star Trek Enterprise playset with it's original near mint MIB on ebay Then I'll opening the damaged carded Trek crew and I'll put them in it's Enterprise playset used for display only, I'll make a bigger acrylic display case to cover them and keep the dust and sun off them.

Then I'll buy custom TOS Star Trek Enterprise playset from MegoScott and I'll put my EMCE Trek crew & Aliens in that playset will looks great but I'll take Captain Kirk's shirt off and put green custom shirt with sleves from Dave Mc or other members in this Mego Museum, I'll get custom short sleves blue velvet shirt for EMCE Dr.Bones, and many more customs!

I see i wasn't the only one who kept all of the STAR TREK figures and playset, I kept mine also and still have em including the Romulan, I just wish i kept the WGSH and batcycle and batcave the apes and tree house but stupid me i sold them at a yardsale around 1979 but i refused to sell the STAR TREK items

This was pretty much like opening a time capsule. I think the last time I actually played with it was when I was around 13 years old (1980). Ironically, the Mission to Gamma was not to be found (I got it as a gift and the little dudes in it kind of freaked me out back then so it was not really ever played with but once or twice - end result it wasn't saved for me since I didn't like it originally)

The packaging I always kept because I used to take tracing paper and practice drawing the characters. I always liked the art. I find it interesting in both a pack-rat-ishly scary and foresightful way that I kept the bubbles, too. I think I did because of the artwork stuck to the glued portions. I'm off work all week for the holidays, so when I dive into what I've brought home, If anything non-mego-y looks good I'll take more pictures.
                It's all good!

Super cool find! I wish I had a childhood home where my stuff was stored. It looks like you were very creative making new guys for yourself. (what does Scottie look like w/ a moustache?) And I see your own viewscreen w/ paper and markers. Very nice!

That's really cool. Every once in awhile I'll come across a small unlikely survivor from childhood. Most recently an orginal fonzie/Duke boot and and an original trek belt. A few years back I found some Star wars backing cards in the attic as well. Bu tnothing as cool as this. Sadly not only did I beat my Mego Trek's to a pulp, I bought a childhood frends pristine enterprise set w/Kirk & Spock during my teen years and ended up selling at a comic show in 1990. Too young at the time to undertsand nostalgia. or what that type of thing would mean to me later on in life.
Ironic and sad since as my username would indicate I'm the posterboy for nostalgia now.

I always get a sad feeling when I see threads like this for a couple reasons.
                      1) I saved EVERYTHING when I was a kid. I vividly recall having a display on top of my dresser of just the BOXES from my things.
We moved from my childhood home when I was 13 (across country) and I had to get rid of almost all my toys including the "junk" (boxes).
                      2) I tried to "save" my most favorite toys like Atomic Mike & Six million dollar man by putting them in a bag and my Dad was supposed to come pick them up and keep them at his house but he never came to get the things. (We flew ahead and my step-dad drove the truck down so had to leave the things).
                      3) My Mom had a flood in her basement once but all my stuff was long gone before that anyway but had there been anything it would've been ruined.
                      4) An idiot "handy-man" that a landlady utilized at a house I rented water-damaged a lot of my stuff in the basement directly under the bathroom. All my original star wars posters, etc and 45RPM record picture sleeves among other items.
But it's cool you still have that opportunity. I can only dream of the stuff I'd still have were it not for those reasons stated above.

Same here Rich, I had saved all of my childhood toys that didn't get destroyed or lost in a couple of large dishwasher/fridge-sized boxes. Little People, Star Wars, Megos, etc. I also had stored all of my concert tour books in there....KISS, Alice Cooper, Cheap Trick, etc.....and managed to keep them all until I was about 15. My dad went on a whirlwind cleaning spree one weekend and without my knowledge threw away both boxes. Literally just took both boxes full of toys and tosses them out. At that point I was out on the weekends hanging out or playing gigs, so I didn't even realise what he'd done. A couple months later I went into the storage room and saw everything was gone and I freaked out. It was one of the main reasons I got into collecting shortly thereafter, because it just irked me that all of my toys were gone that I'd fully intended on keeping forever. And most of those tourbooks became either too rare or too expensive and I never did replace them either

about 3 or 4 years ago i was cleaning out my dad's barn and found some old pepsi dc and looney toon glasses the find ended up costing me more money cause i wanted to buy the characters i didn't find in the boxes. but i guess no one enters the hobby for financial gain. to this day when i see boxes in anyone's garage or barn i think it's full of dc pepsi glasses.
