how to get cigarette smell out of item.

I recently got a item lot and when I opened the bag the items have a strong Cigarette Smell. I remember reading that a dryer sheet put in the bag it the items can take the smell out. Is this true and if so which brand works the best.

dryer sheets work. I don't know if it matters what brand but I have always used Bounce. But that is just because that is what I use in the dryer. Either way it works. Also works to get musty smells out of books.

My parents are heavy smokers(ugh), so I have some experience with this.

I think you have basically three options, either will work.

1. Hit the clothes or whatever with Febreeze and seal them in a plastic tub.

2. Use Snuggle fabric sheets and put the clothing in a ziplock for a few days.

3. Buy one of those little mesh baggies used for delicate laundry items, insert your stuff and your choice of fabric sheet and run it through the dryer.

I've done all of the above and had success with each. It just depends on the type of material you are working with.

a gentle washing never hurts either ... just watch out for color bleed.

I'm shocked at some of the dirt that comes out of some outfits that look clean.
