It's just what it says - the comic head version of the 12" Superman. Actually, a pretty nice sculpt.

          D'oh!
          I didn't notice it was a 12 incher.
Still, I've seen that sculpt before and in the pic it just looks different.
Maybe my eyes are going in my old age?
At least I have my good looks!

Mike, it got released all over, Italy, the UK, France, Australia and Canada. Just not in the States it seems.

I always see the Chris Reeve version for sale. Is the comic version harder to find?

I always thought the comic version was harder - at least here in the states. I'd love to get one MIB. The yellow box just rocks.

I'm not a real big fan of both 12" sculpts. The movie sculpt doesn't look enough like Reeves to me (although he does have some of Jor-El's features which I think is neat) and the comic sculpt has this bewildered look of surprise.
                    It's all good!

I always thought the comic version has a slight George Reeves look to it.

I think because of the jaw line.

I like the comic sculpt. I once converted a Jordache head into the Superman head with a little paint and a custom neck plug because I had spare Superman parts and landed the jordache guy cheap. Sold it to NuMike (bmmc). Didn't know at the time but the Jordache guy has a female ended neck for a Ken or GIJoe type neck plug. Also, it is mentioned that the heads are the same. But if you do a side by side comparison, they are not. The Jordache guy's features are softer scupted. It is the same sculpt. Just not as pronounced.

                          Hmmn.

As a matter of fact, I think This is the head I'm referring to. http://cgi.ebay.com/1981-superman-he...QQcmdZViewItem

Looks like the custom Neck plug I put in it. That is NOT the 12" Superman. It is the Jordache Guy. Note the softer features.

I had that one...I bought it from a seller in England.

Brian/Palitoy is the one who posted the eBay auction in the Auction forum...and I was the first one who hit the BIN.

I forgot how much I paid for him...I think it was under $50.

                            I have since sold him.

I personally like him better than the Chris Reeve USA version.
