I was a huge KISS fan and wanted one of the cool new Mego KISS dolls I saw on TV. I made it a point to make it very clear I wanted Peter Criss, even pointing him out in a Mego KISS ad in TV Guide. When Christmas came, I opened a present from my Aunt and was extremely excited to see the KISS box, then, wah, wah, wah, Ace Frehley. Though bummed it wasn't Peter Criss, I was still jazzed to have a KISS doll.

I also remember getting the CAH Exploding Bridge set one year as well. That was a sweet gift.

Well, as I've said, I only had AJ and Lainie. When I was 5 or 6, I asked for a second AJ after losing the first one. Christmas Day, I opened up a new AJ, and 2 new outfits (Fire Fighter which I called Astronaut, and Snow Mobile). Then my dad found his long lost brother behind the couch and then I had 2!

When I was seven, I had a foster sister from Africa named Hawa. I got the Lainie Dancing Doll, and she got a Remco Mimi, who sings "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing" in 8 languages. They were both 18" tall, and we liked to pretend they were sisters who had a nightclub act.

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic

My best mego christmas is this year. Didnt really get megos new when I was young. Only 35 so I think I was a little young when they first came out. Got the hand me downs from my older brothers. This year by far has been the best mego year for me. My wife bought me a early christmas gift ( alter ego dick grayson) from a member here. Of course I told her about it when I saw someone post one up for sale. She knew I was looking for one for a while and what better time than her yearly bonus. Man still cant believe I got it but hes finally home for good.

Oddly enough, even though I'm sure I must've gotten some Megos for christmas over the years, I don't recall opening any figures. I do remember my sister got Dorothy from the Wizard of OZ one year. I got the Supervator that same year so I probably got my Spiderman then, too.
The only Mego i specifically recall getting as a gift was General Ursus (helmet) that i got for my 10th or 11th birthday.
I actually recall GI Joe stuff way more vividly for Christmas. One year I got the Headquarters, Atomic Mike & Eagle Eye, Mobile Command Unit & Talking GI Joe. I think I got Six MIllion Dollar Man, headquarters & the Bionic Repair Station that year too.

if only I could get another one for christmas ... this time I wouldn't sell it for $5 at a yard sale about 5 years later

I have a couple of Mego christmas memories, vague but pretty certain of. I remember one Xmas getting Kirk, Spock and McCoy, as well as the Enterprise. I also got Muhammed Ali that year too. I think that was Dec. 1976? I also got Evel Knevel that year too. That was a nice haul!

It's hard to pick a "best" xmas for Megos because I always got at least a couple of awesome Mego toys. I don't remember exactly what Xmas it was....I think 1978.....that I got my Gene Simmons figure that I wanted soooooo badly, and I also got a Robin, a Batcopter, and I think some Micronauts as well. That's probably the best year.

More recently my wife and Paul (Daremo) surprised me a couple of years ago by getting me a loose Lizard and Iron Man from someone in the Marketplace, and put them on a couple of Anthony's cards. So Xmas morning I got to open two "carded" Megos that I had always wanted as a child and never got! That was really great and for a moment I got that time-travel feeling Thanks guys!!

TCMHitchhiker- Man I would've envied you getting that Ace figure!!! That was one of the toys I coveted the most, and would search for that thing well into the mid-Eighties, with no luck. Finally I met a kid from the 'hood who had one and didn't care anymore so he sold it to me. That still ranks as one of the most cherished toys I ever owned. Sorry you didn't get your Peter Criss, he was in great abundance around here!!

RussG- You also got one of my most wanted toys, the Foundation!! I didn't even realise you could still get that in 1982, otherwise I would've definitely pushed harder for my family to get it for me. In '82 I was about ten and still very much into WGSH. I still don't own one (I know many of us here share that same predicament!)

My best Mego Christmas was last year. My girlfriend sent me a Hall of Justice (not cheap sending one to Australia) and several wonderful customs. I am so crazy about her.
