Is It Wrong To Love Plastic Rivets?

Ever since I can remember, I've always preferred the T2 Mego body style. I never liked the T1 with the metal rivets. Then I began to come into the ownership of plastic riveted Megos and for the life of me, I don't know what my brain is doing. I love them more and more. The plastic rivets don't stand out like the metal kind so maybe that's it. Whatever the reason, I almost prefer them over all other types. Am I on drugs? No. Am I insane? Only you can make that call, my fellow Mego Museum members. Am I alone in this bizarre change of heart?

I have a Type2 preference as well. I think they look better on display and are much easier to pose and sit. I think some figures shouldn't be on Type2 bodies though. For example: Happy Days. I think Richie, etc would look better on Type 1 because of the less muscular chest.
I also think Type 2s look better due to the less visible plastic rivets. Plus their hands can hold things way better.
I agree that the Type 0 AJ bodies are a little better than the Type 1s but they feel a lot more fragile to me and I'm wondering if that was the reason for the change or maybe they came apart too easy and were a choking hazard??
I do like the Type 1s for the mere fact that those are the classic Mego bodies. You can tell almost instantly, even in a bad small pic on ebay that it's a Type 1 Mego by the splayed legs stance. I think on most Megos I would plan on eventually getting both Types of bodies for my collection. I have a few like that already.

Type 0 and Type 1 rock baby! Yeah..nothing like the spread eagle look for vintage Mego action figures.

Type 2 bodies look like Russian ballet dancers..yuck!

You are a collector so it is ok to love things which most people would think were stupid.

Us collectors know how you feel.

You know, I have never had a T0 body. Probably because I don't collect AJ. I would like to get one at some point though.

Although I love and collect both T1 & T2, I prefer T2 bodies. Not only do I think they look better, but T2 were more my time.

I agree. T0 bodies are tops!
They do pose very well and also they look like mini-humans and not toys.
I adore them until the end!

I'm undecided. One day I Love the Type 2 and the Next I'm all about the Type 1. They both have there Pros and Cons but for me. I think I just want them All

I think it's an issue of the T1 and T0 being more fragile so I look at them as harder to get in nice shape. A tight T1 or T0 is hard to find sometimes. Especially with colored hands as those are even harder to exchange to a standard flesh colored arm with out damaging them unlike the T2's. I think the T2's definately offer more durable play ability though and look more the way some of the characters should look versus the frail looking T1 and T0. Love the T0 AJ and early WGSH stuff I have though.

                  Type 0?

I like metal rivets Type 1. Type 2s bug me me b/c of the hooks on the arms. When the arm pops outta place, the hooks dig into the plastic and often make holes and it's hard to pull them out. Besides, Type 1 AJ was my first. (and I know how to put them back together.)

Type 0 would be the Type 1 AJ you refer to. It was the earliest version body only to my knowledge found on AJ and I think the first four WGSH. Supes Batman, Aquaman, and Robin.
