"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
Two Guys ruled!!! I used to literally hang out at one on Rt.1 in Levittown, PA. Aside from the great accoutrements of most discount department stores of the day, this one had a great greasy cafeteria AND a cool arcade. We used to use the Lost World pinball machine as home base for a games of manhunt.
BTW, I love the simple use of the Christmas ball shape to spotlight the toys. I'm assuming this is early 70's.
Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.
In the halls of Valhalla where the brave may live forever.
My father used to do clothing sales for Two Guys in New York late 60s early 70s. I should dig through his stuff to see if he has any old remnants of sales advertisements.
God "Two Guys" that takes me back a few years. I my day it was either Twin Fair, Two Guys or Kings dept store.
YES! FINALLY! TWO GUYS!!
My absolute favorite store to go to when I was a kid. We went to the one outside of Buffalo in Cheektowaga NY.
Of course Twin Fair and Kings were around and we were a big Kmart family, too, as well as Sears.
Two Guys had the BEST deals and marked stuff down on clearance really cheap (kind of like Target does today).
Fantabulous-sized toy department at Christmas time. I swear it seemed like it was 1/2 the store when I was a kid but I'm sure it wasn't quite that big.
Didn't have to ask me twice if I wanted to go to the store if Two Guys was the destination.

I remember going one time and seeing an entire "wall" of Kenner boxed Alien figures marked down to $3 clearence. Oh what I'd do for a time machine and a couple of hundred dollars...........

I was in a Two Guys when Hurricane David hit New Jersey in 1979. With my parents. Everyone started looting. We split. A tree almost fell on our car. Vivid memories.
They had an amazing arcade. It's where I saw Space Invaders and Asteroids for the first time. They had an Asteroids style vector graphic game with two ships that looked like the enterprise fighting each other, similar to Tank Battle on the Atari 2600. I loved that one. They had this mini bowling alley where you rolled a ball over these sensors and mini pins dangling above the sensors would go up. It only cost a dime for 10 frames.
Ahhh, Two Guys. MUCH MUCH MUCH Mego and Star Wars action figure buying happened there. Although I mostly bought my Megos off of the comic book ads, from some outfit in South Jersey.

I can't recall the exact price but I got a Supervator as a gift from there once and it had like a million price tags on it (continuously marked down) and must've been maybe a couple bucks tops.
I wish i still had that!

I don't recall the games and things, I spent all my time in the toy section.
I do recall that was the first place I saw Star Wars figures and those really clunky first light sabers that looked like a fluorescent light tube attached to a flashlight handle. I wanted those so bad but my stepfather said I was too old for that stuff (I was like 12!) and I never got any Star Wars toys at all.
