I've told this story before, but since you asked...(It wasn't really my mishap, but close enough.)

My cousin Cliff and I both got a Mego Fonzie on the same summer day. We were showing them to our other cousin Donald, telling him how cool Fonzie was because his thumbs were movable and could do the "Ayyy!" thing. So what did Donald do? He took Cliff's Mego Fonzie and threw it on the roof. We couldn't get it down, and it never occured to us to ask an adult for help in the matter. Cliff was Fonzie-less. I guess that's more of a jerk-hap than a mishap.

I've told the story of my "friend" throwing Superman into a neighbor's yard, complete with mean dog. I had to rescue the Mego from said dog. Hilarity ensued.

The Mego Batmobile was quite resilient. I only had one of those, and it jumped off of our 6 ft high back deck (with Batman and Robin inside) many times. Mego Spock also survived many throws off the deck into the kiddie pool, moonlighting as the Sub-Mariner.

Not to go off on a tangent here but you reminded me of those rockets. You know, the ones you filled with water and snapped it into the handle and pumped, pumped, pumped it up and then let the release lever go and it shot up on the neighbor's roof?
Yeah I think that happened to every one of those I had. You'd think I'd take it out in a field?
Of course same thing happened with those ESTES rockets. The ones that came as a kit and you spent all that time making them. Then you take them out in a huge field and shoot them off and they go shooting off somewhere over the far away treetops never to be seen again?
