    Weekly Question: Accessories anyone?

Okay. So I asked about every question bout our 8" favorite toy. From customizing to "Personal Insite." (Thanks for opening up guys really)
Lets go on to the toys for the toys. Many toy companys other than Mego and including Mego capitalized on the Action figure by supplying cars, vans, helocopters and playsets. Now I could just ask which is best/worst but lets take it further. What should have been done with the worst Mego Vehicle or accessory and what would have made the cool ones cooler.

For me. Its a tie. The hulk van and the Bat copter really bite. I would have made a Hulk Capture van. Include a knock off army guy and make the back of the van a cage to put Hulk in. Also add a tension device connected to the wheels so as the little van speeds on its way the device would launch the Hulk like a catapult, smashing apart the cage as our hero escapes yet again. The Bat copter really could have been better as compared to the Spidey copter.

As for making the cool cooler. Well I'm waiting to see how that scale TV Batmobile one of our members is working on. Hopefully I'll find an update on it soon.

Mego never made a Hulk van, that was another toy company. Although the goofy Batcopter was all Mego, which is why the Spidey Copter was better, that wasn't Mego either.

As a kid i rember the ape jail cell being kinda crapie, I also rember the Batmobile being kinda of a let down being to small and lacking detail the Batbike was much cooler looking. But i have to ask what was MEGO thinking when they made the 8 inch Dukes and said forget about the GENREL LEE they missed a big seller there

Well, even though it wasn't scale to size. I liked the batmobile, but maybe would have added some of the features that the Corgi version had. Batcopter to me was the worst and in my opinion the only way to make it better would have been a complete re-design to make it actually look like a 'copter.
          It's all good!

I think my older sisters had clog shoes that were about the size of the Batcopter.

The Batcycle is the best Mego accessory - I just wish it could stay upright
            without the sidecar.

Yeah. I agree. The Batmobile is high on the cool list. I never saw the corgi version. What was the features you'd transfer?
The Thing about the Batmobile to me is all the empty space below the body. Its definately hindsite speaking but I' d rig a chute at the back. have it rigged to the wheels to pop out at certain distance maybe. Perhaps toss in a pullback or friction motor.

Actually, that "Many toy companys other than Mego and including Mego" was a statement. The actual question was "What should have been done with the worst Mego Vehicle or accessory and what would have made the cool ones cooler."

Of course, I just point that out to deflect from the fact that I got caught skimming the post instead of reading it.

                  So, I'll answer the question....

By far the coolest Mego accessory ever is the Jousting Horse cover. My favorite all time Mego thing that isn't an action figure. How could it have been better? If it would have came with the jousting saddle shown in the catalog. (maybe it did, but we just don't know it).

I actually looked online for a site that might have pictures along with the description of what it did, but I didn't find much. The Corgi 1966 Batmobile, looked TV acurate, came with tiny Batman and Robin figures glued into the chairs and had little yellow pellets that could fire from the rocket launchers and also have a blade (not really sharp)that would pop out of the front grill. It also had plastic "flames" coming out the rocket exhaust in the back.
                    It's all good!
