I used to LOVE that store!!
I believe the "N" was for Neisners, just as the "K" in Kmart was for Kresge.
That was the closest BIG store to the place I grew up so we went there all the time. It was basically a K-Mart clone right down to the cafeteria. They just razed the strip mall where the Big N was (Hamburg, NY) to build a Walmart. My Mom lives just down the street from there. I got my LAST new POTA figure there. My SECOND Soldier Ape with CUFFED sleeves.
