Buying parts that you don't need.

    Does anybody else do this......

Buying parts on Ebay that you don't actually need just in case they come in handy later on. I bought some Batman gloves and boots the other day. Boots, I already have lots of, but gloves, they don't turn up that often and although I don't need them now I felt compelled to give them a new home for the sake of a few pounds.

I used to do this all the time, but mostly for trading fodder.

An extra parts box always comes in handy when you're looking to trade for a part you don't have.

Definately. I will flip stuff all the time and you never know when an original piece will be needed. I buy only if it's cheap though. I treat ebay more like a flea market or yard sale. Always looking for a deal.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

I've managed to piece together the clothing for my childhood Batman and Robin buying random parts and random lots.

Yes definately. I am always looking for that one spare original part, or hard to find part that pops up occasionally. Or something I might want for a future custom.

I mentioned this a long time ago, but i'll say it again for the newer guys ...
I built a 100% complete, original and almost mint Mego Conan for $15.00.
It took 10 years to do it, but through buying lots of cheap parts I don't need and trading them --and so on, I was able to build my Conny one piece at a time.
I did that to a lesser extreme with 99% of all my Mego's.

Yes, I sometime will buy parts for a figure that I am thinking of getting later on. Who know what parts you need when you find it.

I do all the time, buying clothes and parts lots on eBay. Most of it comes in handy later on, either for customs or as trade fodder
