Yeah, Brian can tell you I have been enthusiastic (to the point of mental illness) about the possibility of this card since the original Spider-Man and Superman cards came out. But any of you who have ever politley suffered through my Mego Ivanhoe PowerPoint presentation can surely attest to that. My sincere gratitude for letting me sponsor this card - I almost literally could not send the PayPal funds fast enough. I have waited long for this day, and to see it a reality is a rare and special treat.

My sincere thanks to Scott as well for designing to spec almost exactly the card I had envisioned, even though I said nothing to him about it for fear of interfering in the creative process. I say "almost" only because his talented efforts surpassed my vision - design, colors, layout, the whole enchilada! My thanks again for letting me help out with the card backs as well. This one is, shockingly, my favorite

To me, Ivanhoe is, hands down, the best example of Mego at its finest. Even the fine details like the lance rest, the clamshell helm, and the matching lions rampant on the breastplate and jousting shield, to the dead on likeness of Robert Taylor, who stars in a trifecta of classic 1950's MGM films: "Ivanhoe", "The Knights of the Round Table", and "The Adventures of Quentin Durward" (and kudos to you if you have even heard of the third title). The Knights line really captures a lot of the essence of what 1950's "Medieval Mayhem" movies were about - striking actors and actresses, lavish sets, and flashy wardrobes in dazzling colors.

All of which was totally lost on kids in the 1970s, but at least we still have them today

Excellent! Mission accomplished! Everyone should have the Knights in their collection. Besides wasn't one of the Ivanhoe Jousting Horses found in Belgium?

Everything about this one is steller. The colors, the composition, there just isn't a flaw. Outstanding.

Well, Scott unveiled three new Super Knight card and I see that the Black Knight is all so far. I wonder if this holds true for the rest, hope it is.
