Yeah, by a guy I used to do toyshows with, he claimed someone stole my stash while it was in his store but later the truth came out of his ex girlfriend.

It's been 16 years and when I see him at shows he still runs and hides when he catches a glimpse of me.

Freakin COWARD!!! He should at least own up and admitt his wrong and try to right it. I had a few figures disappear when I was having a garage sale. They were in my clear tote in the back of the garage laying out since I was going through everything and I noticed that 2 were missing right off the top of the pile when I went to pick up a few bags for clothes. Since I noticed it soon after the theft I went and made a run through my neighborhood since there were many sales that day hoping I might spot a car or person I recognized and I noticed a kid playing with them on the hood of a car so I pulled over and questioned his mom and she said she had no idea where he got them but she busted his fanny and made him give them back and appologize. I just hate when parents don't watch their kids and just let them run through someones place unattended. At least I got my cappy and aquaman back. Sorry to hear about anyones loss of a mego. Davis.

My Mom stole a bunch of them when I was in 6th grade and sold them in a church bizarre sale along with most of my Star Wars stuff. Classic story. No genuine crimes though. Sorry to hear about the others.

Now I have an AR-15 and no one will steal my megos EVER.

I have to go back a few years, but it was when I sold my original Megos.

It was in 6th Grade that I decided I was "too old" for these dolls and decided I cold make 10-bucks a pop selling them to my friends, Joe and Nathan. (No, I clearly did not see the future market for boxed Megos) Somehting seemed odd, not the least of which was how easily they accepted my price. After watching them a bit more carefully, I noticed one would distract me while the other stuffed a figure or two in his shirt. The fact that there were now empty Mego boxes did not get by my Encyclopedia Brown-like senses!

I did later get Nathan back by spraying him with a hose and dumping flour on him (I don't know, it seemed like revenge). Joe... he scared too much and he would've kicked my butt.

I took my Mego Type 2 Superman to school for show-and-tell one day in 1st grade. After the presentation, a kid in my class asked to see him. Against my better judgment, I let him. The teacher made us go back to our seats and resume work, and the kid seemed to ignore my requests to give the figure back before we sat down. At the end of the day, the bell rang, and the kid bolted for the door. I followed after him yelling at him, but he quickly dashed outside and got on one of 10 buses waiting to take off. I was crushed. I got on my bus, rode home, and immediately broke down into tears when I made it home. My mom hit the roof and called the school. I'm not sure what transpired after that, but at the very least a phone call was made to the boy's house, and the next day he had to hand me back the Superman in front of the whole class and apologize. My mom even came to school to make sure he gave it back!!!

My mom did something similiar when the bad neighbor kids stole some of my mego figures, her and my best friend's mom broke into the neighbor's garage to get our toys back.

She still says "those dolls were expensive".

                Those kids were freaking savages.

Cool. Nothing like breaking and entering over Megos. My mom would have done, and said the same thing!

One more stolen Mego tale. My friend Michael was playing with what I believe was the same Superman from the previous story. He decided to make him fly and threw him from his grandmother's yard into our other neighbor's yard. They happened to have a rather aggressive Spitz dog named Willie. The dog came out of his doghouse (which he was chained to), picked up Superman, and took him back to his doghouse. I was flabbergasted as I watched Willie put his paws all over my Mego. My parents weren't home, and my sister was too busy talking on the phone, so I felt like I had to work fast or my Superman was toast. I waited till the dog moved away from the figure and to his water dish, and then I bolted into the yard. Grabbed the Superman and turned around in one motion and ran for sweet freedom. Willie instantly began barking and chased me the length of the yard. I leaped over the patio wall that separated Michael's grandmother's yard from Willie's owners, and Willie got yanked back by his chain, just like the hound in those Foghorn Leghorn toons.

Superman was alright save for a slightly chewed boot and some minor teeth marks on his calf muscle.

Years later when I saw the movie the Sandlot, it felt like deja-vu!

I've been very Fortunate. I Live in a Super secure building and I rarely let anyone see my Collection. I think maybe a few of my friends have ever seen them in Person. If anything would happen to my MEGOs I would just Be Crushed.

Worst thing I had happen to a Mego was my Batgirl went missing and was found 5 or 6 years later... in a pile of my sister's Barbie junk.

Yup, Babs was snatched by my sister to join the rest of the Barbaras...

Yes, 2nd grade, right after Christmas. I was still on vacation. My brother and I had to go upstairs and eat dinner and my cousin and friend were downstairs. We left them to play while we ate. They soon came up to the front door and said they had to go. They were leaving. They stole several Megos and AHI monsters. I don't believe we ever got them all back. As I recall they took them across the street and over the hill into a wooded lot and buried them. Nice little fellas.
