Mego of the Day: The Human Wolfman

Mego of the Day is the wonderful Human Werewolf, Mego went to great lengths to create something that didn't infringe on the Jack Pierce Lon Chaney makeup and created a pretty cool fantasy character. Part monster/Part story book villain, the Human Werewolf is a fan favorite.

Such a great design: a terrific head sculpt, and an costume that, while unusual, really looks cool--nice textures.

Now we are talking! The Human Wolfman is my all time favorite toy. Weither by design or by accident, mego was years ahead of thier time on this character. While the movies and tyos of the pre 1971 era were still doing the "universal type version" of werewolves, mego came out with this sculpt that was more wolf than man. That version has since been accepted as the norm when it comes to the werewolf toy or movie.
I was going to say the same thing! Definitely predates the more lupine werewolves that began taking over in the 80s!

His head sculpt is so insane looking. Werewolf or not, I think he has rabies.

          Ahh,
          The old Wolfman ...

I still think American Werewolf ripped him off.

Gotta love the Wolfman. Just wish I could remember where I got mine from... Probably from one of those catalogs I ordered out of Toy Shop.

The head sculpt saved this figure for me. I remember being a bit disappointed in the outfit (somehow the silkscreened tux never bothered me on Drac). I really wanted one that reflected J. Jonah's kid a little more.
              WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.

Still have my original and I would say he was my favorite of the Mego monsters as well.
Unfortunately mine started getting a little eye melt when I pulled him out of the box to check him a few months ago. I am in the process of carefully removing the melted parts (what choice do I have? Looks crappy like that).

Very cool. And as with all the mad monsters, love those glow in the dark features.
He has a terrific head sculpt and the outfit rocks.

Don't like him never did, He ranks up there with MYXIE as one of the worst figures by MEGO, I only get one to complete the line plus he was cheap but i still don't like this figure
