Mego of the Day: KISS Kamping set

Today's Mego of the Day may be the strangest item showcased here, the wonderfully odd (but not produced) Kiss Kamping set. Made for the 12" series of Mego KISS Dolls because everybody knows the boys just love the outdoors in full makeup. Whatever, it was the 70s and perfectly alright for people to have cocktails with their lunch.

I like how the sleeping bags sort of look like concert tickets. They should have included fishing spears. I imagine that would be how the boys would go catch dinner

This is the ultimate what-were-they-thinking? Mego product. I had no idea about this until I came across it surfing the galleries (you never know what you've missed until you've gone through several times). I love this and wish they had produced it. Its just so kitschy-cool!

BTW, is that a guitar or a ukelele?

Well anyone who watches Gene Simmon's Family Jewels knows how much Gene loooooves the outdoors!
Mego must not have even ran that by the group.
Then again, if Gene can make a buck on something he'd have gone for it.
I wonder how many original Kiss Megos Gene (or any of them) still have?

Yeah, I remember my brother bought that and he gave them to his ex neighboor friend in the late '70s. I asked him why can't he give that to me??? He said, "sorry, I thought you don't like them".....
