Mego of the Day: 12" Decker

Throwing out a little love for the much maligned first Star Trek movie today, who cares if they've got uniforms that slightly resemble feety pajamas? Decker is actually the toughest figure in the set and bears a nice resemblance to actor Stephen Collins.

Wow, I think that's the first time I've seen Decker up close. And the first time I've seen a ST:TMP figure that wasn't zombified!

The 12" was a very attractive line, IF they weren't grayed. I had Spock for a few weeks and thought the sculpt was pretty decent. I had wanted to sew some tan coats they wore at the end to add some texture to the figure, but never got around to hunting down the fabric for it.

      Excellent resemblence..

Another 12" line I don't have any of - yet. But like everyone says finding them non-grey is the tricky part. I'm surprised McCoy didn't make the cut.

I'd like to see EMCE do the movie line in 8" format.

          Great line .....
Decker was the only TMP-12" figure I never owned (because of its secondary market price)

The cheapest i've ever seen one -- pre ebay days, was around $90.00... and it had a gray head.

I'm probably one of the only Trekkers to like ST-TMP..

That would be awesome.. I'd acutally like to see some with the TMP grey outfits. You have to see the recent Director's Cut to know it doesn't suck all that much.

Color-wise the clothing was way dull, but it did add a nice style to the movie, where the TOS uniforms (and later red suits..) wouldn't have worked.

Ah, what a tease. Decker is the only Trek 12 incher that I still need to get. It's a great line (except for the greying heads) and although Decker is the scarcest, and therefore usually the most expensive, he also has the weakest sculpt IMO. He almost has a "Ken doll" look to him. I'm still going to have to buy one to complete my collection though.

Hey Brian, did Collins every play a detective, or does he just not fit in with that theme like Batman, Starsky and Micky/Baretta?

No, there's no connection that I know of. I almost included Sonny Bono in his "Private Eye" outfit but passed....

I don't think I've ever seen the 12" Decker figure. Nice!

Hard to believe but i know just about nothing about these 12 inch STTMP figures, When they came out i was in my teens and had no intrest in toys, As an adult collecter i've tried a few times to win a MIB SPOCK but i've lost everytime , Maybe EMCE will put these out in an 8inch figure, If they do i'll be buying them for sure

Decker and the Klingon were definately the best of the bunch in the 12" line. Kirk and Spock both had a weird look to them...like they just walked into the turbo lift and caught scent of something truly evil.

I never cared for the little booties either, but short of going the 8" molded on boot look, I have no idea how they could have improved on this.

(By the way, anybody have any 8" Decker or Arcturian heads for sale?)
