    I need a question answered, PLEASE .

I am not sure if this is the correct forum, but I need some advice from you veterans. I recently purchased a MIB Mego Batlab that has never been opened or had the decals/stickers applied. The problem is that when it was packaged, they TAPED both the sliding door (God knows why, as these NEVER open that easily) and the hatch in the back. Since it has been 30 years, the tape has basically turned into an epoxy, glue-like substance that is difficult to remove. Does anyone have ANY suggestions on how to clean this off without damaging the batlab itself or discoloring it? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

I believe what may work is stuff called Goo-Gone
    takes off sticker residue.
I used it on some CD cases I bought the other day that had personalized name stickers on them. look good as new.
I would test it on an inconspicuous area first though.
    and READ THE LABEL!

Might be in the automotive section. Ive had the stuff for awhile so I dont recall where i got it.

Goo gone works, but it leaves some surfaces a little oily. Like Krypto just mentioned, test it first.

I've used lighter fliud to remove tape residue from paper and plastic items. I've heard that even peanut butter will remove it too. I don't know why but it might have something to do with the oil in it.

WD40 will negate adhesive as well. Don't use it on paper as it will stain, but it's OK on plastic.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

I don't think that's styrene plastic on that van. Styrene is the kind of plastic they use for model kits. I am just speculating on the type but I'm thinking it's got a more flexible plastic rather than the hard styrene. (Like a Barbie car). Would only make sense for playthings like that?
