    Mego of the Day: Starsky

Mego spotlight goes to Detective Dave Starksy from the "Starsky and Hutch" (obviously) one of mego's finer TV lines.

It is a great figure all around, but I was never a fan of the show (I know how could I not be?), so I never had that connection to want to have one. Hey Brian, with Mickey yesterday and Starsky today is the connection Mego figures that end in "Y"?
    It's all good!

I never could figure out why they didn't release Starsky in his trademark sweater. Back in the day, that was kind of a big thing. I remember you could buy them in the store.

Excellent example of Mego doing TV stars..

A really impressive figure.. With nice tapered non-flashy urban styled clothes, it really looks like Mego was striving for a good diversification in their line, away from just comic/scifi/fantasy product ideas. This really shows their success.

I'm trying to hunt down (or make..) a nice brown leather coat for mine.. Add that AJ shoulder holster and he's set. Super head sculpt, even better than David Soul. I was planning on buying another figure of him at one point just to have another Space 1999 astronaut (Year 2).

        One of the great shows...!

Loved the show as a kid so as an adult I had to have this figure. Great likeness to the actor and all round cool figure.

Picked up this guys for 8bucks recently. Complete. I think you simply gotta have one. Of course then I had to get a Hutch, and now I need the car....

S&H was one of the first non-WGSH lines I remember getting as an adult collector. Loved the show and really liked the figures. I had managed to find a complete set carded and was getting loose examples and was down to the last one - Chopper. I found one on a beat up card and freed him. Felt good

I still need to find the Palitoy version of S&H.

I love this show! I did bid once on the car and both figures and got outbid, of course. I wonder why Mego put moccasins on him and not sneakers or black shoes?

A really nice headsculpt, with a good likeness of the actor. I remember watching S&H as a kid, but my memory pretty much ends there. I still my childhood Corgi Torino.

One of those sculpts that is great, but pretty useless as customs. Not to many curly-haired heroes out there.

Great figure from a great show, never had one as a kid but i recall seeing them at the store back in the day, Today i have him in my collection awaiting to be put in a custom window box, But since he's loose at present he's standing by the SWAT guys but i gave Starsky an AJ shoulder hoster and pistol and he took off the moccasins in favor of a pair of Fonzie boots he now looks a lot better

I had Starsky as a kid. I remember I lost all his clothes, so I made up a super hero name for him and played with him along side my other heroes. Great memory!!!!
