    The question of the week?

    Hello Yunz all.
I've been hitting this group with these kinda phylosophical (forgive spelling I'm on a Palm) questions involving Mego. They seem to get alot of responce so lets keep it going. Heres your question: Its August 197X. You are the Mego Developement guy and your job is to come up with the new Mego Hero or Villian for Christmas. The thing is (as we see in Mego history) You have to recycle. Use molds and processes that would have exsisted from that Mego time period. To create the new action figure star. This may seem like a dull question to any customizer. But most customizers go outside the Mego sphere of influence for thier raw material. Here. you have to create from a pure Mego environment. you can borrow from any mego toy line or proccess the Mego employed. But remember its gotta be from the Mego era and Mego company (s)

First one to come to mind

I would imagine a Flash could be made by retooling a Captain America head and a Shazam costume.

How about a Green lantern,I think by just molding a mask like they did to Robin but using Superman or Aquamans head he would've been easy and good to go

Always thought the Partridge Family would sell well to the girls market. I liked that show as a kid.Music seemed to be selling based on the Donny and Marie, captain & Tennile lines so why not do the Partridge family. Cool bus in 8 inch Mego scale would have ruled as well as a garage playset which could have been the Fonzie garage redone. Monkees would have been cool as well. Still wish Mego would've gotten the Battlestar Galactica line. One of my favorite Sci Fi space shows.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

You have most parts for Dr. Doom: repainted Iron Man head, Andorian silver jump suit, knights gloves and boots or repainted IM's gloves and Tinman boots and a black belt. All you'd still need is a green suit and green cape/hood. Now that should've been easy enough for Mego

I always thought Supermans head would make the perfect Green Lantern, repainted. I even made one for my son and it was so good I almost kept it for myself. Working on another one now.

I think you all got this jist of my question. So here's my thoughts (And future custom). Take a Hulk head cast in flesh tone and add black hair and a pair of googles.
Mego produced some bendy figures so have this division whip up some tenticles. Slap all this on a chubby body with a green jumpsuit and yelloy boots and you got Doc Ock.
Or take a Frier Tuck. Add googles and redo the hair. Add green jumper and staff. Through in a couple pocket hero bodys with reworked heads for minions and you get the Moleman.
