BROWN zira and cornelius proof ???

I was looking at this picture the amazing Scott B. posted of his arena in the POTA playset thread.

    http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...tcin/arena.jpg

It definetly looks like a brown zira next to a green one. Proof that the brown zira and thus cornelius too, were an actual variation and not just a case of some outfits changing color over time. I'm hoping thats the case but knowing Scott's childhood ingenuity, he probably put together an exact copy of zira's green outfit in brown for this picture. :-)

    What you all think???
    Can you verify this Scott?

    I had each - so I know it's a variation.
Unlike green to yellow of Robin and Aquaman.

I have a brown Cornelius as well. It's not a color change, it's an actual production design. But the pants are a different shade of brown than the tunic. Is that really the case or do I have the wrong pants?

I know the one you bought... I thought that the top was a dye job?

No matter what the case is, it's still pretty cool and I'd find pants to match the top...

A dye job? I got taken? No way!
The tunic looks great that's why I don't think it's a dye job but I guess that I'll need an expert to confirm that for me. I'm going to need soldier ape pants to get a matching brown.

            Hi guys,
Sorry I have been absent - but I'm still getting to know my way around the board.
Well, the re-posting of the arena pic had me digging again. I couldn't find all my Zira's 9 (very weird), but I did find all my Corneilus figures.
Here a pic to show the difference.
NOW, before anyone has a heart attack - both are opened, but yes, I kept all my figures in their orig. packaging.
I do remember the one being brown. However, I don't remember it being THIS BROWN. This is strange because these have been packed away in a closet totally away from sunlight so fading of that sort is out of the question. ...and since it was left in the packaging - well, just look at the color of that, it's fine.
I'd say it was a bad dye job done on the material which would explain why it would fade - I think?!
I'll keep looking for the Zira.
            - Scott B.

Well, here you go...proof. I found my other Zira figures and here's the one you saw in the pic of the arena I made next to a "normal" one.

Up until this post I never really thought about the differences, or expected it meant so much. Coming here has been an eye opening, and learning experience.

And with the way you kept these packed away, I'd say that's the next best thing to sealed packages!

Having met Scott and personally seen someof his collection, I would feel strongly that these brown version are indeed variations and not color fades.

Now you all have me looking in places I didn't think to. Here another, I don't know if anyone else has noticed - or it if means anything.

I pulled out the two "Burke" I have and saw this...

In this shot you can see ( I hope) the very different skin tones, especially in the faces. One looks like he has a tan. Also - not the shirt under the vest - one is opened more making him look like Kahn. It's not that noticeable here in the pics, but there's even a difference in the pants.

Here's a tighter shot for detail of what's mentioned above.

Now for a close-up of the how the difference in color extends down to include the hands - this is interesting since the head, like the hands are "add-ons", yet match.

I hope I not re-treading what someone else may have brought up before I came here.

Don't stop there at the hands scott. Those pics seem to show a different skin tone, do to the legs and the feet! Very interesting.
