I love Zorro...mine has original head/body/sword...the rest: Dave Mc (he has an all original Zorro) custom cape, Lion Rock Chinese Guerilla suit, and Wyatt Earp hat painted black.
Like Jet Jungle I never knew about Zorro until I visited the Museum for the first time in December '05. He looks pretty cool but I have no desire to own an original or replica since I was never a real Zorro fan, although I did own a few of the 3 3/4" figures from...Gabriel(?).
I do know a guy who has a factory fresh boxed example which was given to him by a Palitoy rep. So far my attempts of prising it from his grasp have proven futile.
I've always loved this character, although didn't know about the Mego until I found the Museum galleries. Never thought I'd own one. When I finally scored a complete original loose one, it was the most I'd ever spent on a toy (still is). When I sent that paypal, I was almost sick to be spending so much on an action figure. When he arrived, I was giddy as a school girl. He's still one of my favorites.
In box?? Good luck. I would love to have one, especially in the box, but this dude is pretty rare even loose. Anybody have a case of them to sell off??? Anybody??
...Crickets Chirping...
lol tell whoever sells you that i'll take all the extra ledy green lanterns and jokers he's got and a palitoy capt if he's got one laying around. who's laughing i'm being serious.
I shudder to think how many of these are still stuck up in the roofspace of peoples houses as parents moved their kids toys as they grew up. There has to be some just waiting to be discovered.
I still think I will stumble across one at a car boot sale, but then again i'm going to win the lottery every Saturday....It never happens.
"I should say I`m very much cleverer than any of the people who put me here. As a matter of fact, I could leave any time I wanted. It`s only a doll`s house after all. Anyway, I don`t mind. I like dolls" - The Mad Hatter, Arkham Asylum.
