The Good Witch of the North from the Mego Wizard of Oz line is the spotlight today. A favourite of yours or something that will not grace your collection? Tell us about it at the Mego forum.
Big Oz fan---but not particularly of the movie----
Maybe I'll own the Oz stuff one day....nice figures.
For the record---that pic of GLINDA there^^^ makes her look
like a real pretty figure.
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
I love all things Oz and wanted the figures as a kid, but never got them. I have all of them now and think they're a great line. Glinda is a lovely mego and it may have been awkward for me to buy here as a child, but no such concerns now, as a 40-year old : )
One of Megos best figures from one of their best lines. She was probably the 3rd or 4th Oz figure I got as an adult. I'm looking forward to the Oz museum trading cards.
If these were displayed in the girl isle back in the day I never would have seen them as a kid since I don't have a sister.

I like Ladies Week..! Seriously, it's a super idea to do more theme weeks.
Perhaps 'Car-wreck' Week (subtitled 'What-were-they-thinking' Week)~ Figures, you don't know why they made, hate to look at, embarrassed to have actually had as a kid, but you need it to complete a collection (Mugato..?, etc..).
Also, 'Vintage Stud/Stud-ette' Week: Travolta, Farrah, Paul Michael Glazer, Fonzie.
It's definitely ladies week here at the museum!

It's always ladies week here at the museum!
I have one I purchased in a lot but it's missing the wand. I had to fix her arm and clean the dress a bit but it's one that I do have displayed.
Everyone loves it here at Casa Wallace and my wife even fixed her hair.
Family fun for everyone!

When I am grown to man's estate,
I shall be very proud and great.
And tell the other girls and boys,
not to meddle with my toys.

Yes, totally intentional on my part, I usually do MOTD in one block, so I try to mix it up, suggestions are always welcome. A train wreck week is great.

Here's my story about Glinda. Back when I was more active making custom figures I found a Glinda at a toy show and thought if I could get her for a good price she'd be good custom fodder. In the course of haggling with the lady I mentioned that since I only wanted the figure for a project I didn't want to pay that much. She actually teared up and said "You're just going to rip her up? That's terrible!" But it was the end of the day and she took my offer, but man, did I feel like a monster.
She's a good figure and I really liked hearing in Scott's thread about ToyFair 75 how they had her in a big globe suspended from the ceiling above the display.
Maybe I can find a hamster ball and hit it with some glitter....
It's definitely ladies week here at the museum!

I was just kidding when I brought it up in the Uhura thread
I just picked up my first two OZ figures and Glinda was one of them. I have to say I would have had absolutley NO interest in this line as a kid. I enjoyed the annual showing of the movie, but I don't know that I'd want to make up plotlines for the characters. Now, of course, I want them all!
OZ figures must be fairly common as I see them all the time on ebay and a great deal of the time they are actually complete.
I saw a Glinda boxed and nobody had bid on it. Was like maybe $20 or so but I had no interest in her really. I even thought about buying her just to resell or trade for something else but I wasn't even interested enough to do that but mainly I was thinking it might be a repro or something and maybe that's why nobody bid on it?
They have repro'd the OZ stuff, haven't they?
I might like to pick up a TinMan, Lion & Scarecrow though if I could get a deal.
My sister had Dorothy & Scarecrow.
Of course the Witch is kinda cool but she's the one everyone wants so big bucks usually.
Wish they made a Flying Monkey.
