    Spidey, Stan, and a Blip

Heres a classic. You have to look way back to '83 just before the great videogame crash to remember this one. Needless to say this was a short lived magazine from Marvel that lasted under a year. I remember that game well. I was never good at it and would quickly change carts to dig dug, galaxian, etc.

I really liked Marvel from this period though. Alot of their regular comics would often have fun photos of the staff to. I wonder if other than this has Stan ever played a videogame in his life.

Wow, what a flashback! I had that Blip magazine. I was so excited to see Spidey and Goblin as I had seen them at Hill's department store just a few years before No one in my family took a camera!. But I did get their autographs.

The Spider-Man game was my favorite on the Atari. Even though the graphics were primitive, the game play was fairly advanced compared to some of the other games we had. I never did get to see the game in color, since my mom read video games would burn a pattern in your TV and forbade us to play it on the big color model in the living room. Sigh.

That commercial makes me lament the Power Rangers Goblin from the first film even more...

Wonder where that started. Probably from one local news channels from when videogames were new. There was always some kind of controversy about them in the late 70s and early '80s. I guess if there was one positive, it was you could play whenever you wanted.
I usually had to limit my game playing on the Intellivision and Atari (manually switched on one tv depending on which system I was wanting to play) to one hour and that was when cartoons were on....He-man usually won out

I miss how fun Marvel as a company was back then.

I remember when Marvel hired that CEO in the 90s that attacked the fan base regularly, thinking he was destroying the whole reason the company prospered.

Awesome looking Goblin in that commercial.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
