Don't you still have to worry about the Red Ring of Death? Or has that been taken care of?

Not doing any online gaming for awhile. And what's this Red Ring of Death?

It's the XBox version of a blue screen.

^I think they worked that out with the newer systems. I don't hear people talk about it anymore.

In regards to X-Box Live...may I suggest that you DON'T give them ANY CC or Debit Info at all (I've heard this complaint from MANY Hardcore Gamers.).

Go to just about any local Retail Store (Target, Walmart, GameStop, etc) and purchase a "Xbox 360 Live 12 Month Gold Card" or a "Family Gold Pack" if you want to have more then one Gamer (Tag) access X-Box Live.

Doing it this way keeps the CC & Debit Card Info out of Micro$oft'$ hands.

The downside is you have to renew every 12 months...but...I personally consider that a good thing cause it gives you the option to take it away if you deem it should.

Just an update, after much agonizing and waffling, we went Playstation. I remembered you can play DC Universe online on Playstation, and that was the dealbreaker. Andrew has been playing "Herotopia" which is a similar idea with generic, kiddie super heroes, so I know he'll enjoy the DCU game.

It was really tough to figure this one out. Thanks for all the advice and info!
