Thankfully, this doesn't affect me much. I heard that 70 million (yes million) accounts were compromised. I really don't play video games so it doesn't affect me personally. My oldest son does play Sony games online but it isn't his biggest passion so he isn't bothered by it. There isn't any credit card info. online since he plays only the free games so my only concern is that they have his name, address, age, etc. but don't think he is at the top of the list of people that whoever hacked it are interested."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

my kid played this network.
We didn't pay for any premium account; but he did buy a couple small map packs or something - because I remember him needing my debit card info.
What annoys me beyond this fiasco, is - he cannot even log into the network to reset his password or let me look at what info was REALLY available to the hackers.
Is there a way folks are logging in via HTTP or on the PS3 to view account stuff?Comment

I don't know much about since I'm really not into gaming but my older son said the entire site has been down and inaccessible. I can imagine some people might be going through some big time withdrawal symptoms by now."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

^^not that I am aware of. but I am not sure i would log in even if you could as who knows if the hackers are still in thereComment

I'm not too worried about it - I mean, face it...there's information about yourself on the Internet that you yourself can't stop...plus, if my debit card number was compromised and I see any charges; the bank makes one click and money is all back safe and sound like it never happened.
I'd still like to login to the darn thing though to poke around.Comment

The only firm date Sony has given is May 31. Four previous dates have already slipped by. Apparently they didn't realize how extensive the problem was, so I read yesterday.Comment

Yesterday the hackers started posting Data... Now the Government is involved and sony needs THEIR approval before PSN goes back up!Comment
