From what I've heard it's five episodes and that's it.

I don't know what the deal is, I thought it was a popular series, maybe it's hard to schedule.

          NO SPOILERS:

It is coming back for a third season of only five episodes. It will be more in the
nature of a five part story and at this point is intended to run on consecutive
          nights.

I just finished the last episode of TW series 2 today, so this is a timely thread. to answer kirk's question. Yes. I definatelt think so on both counts. Especially after the events of the TW series 2 finale. I also have to say that series 2 blew series 1 away! If Russel T. Davies follows regular protocol, they will just keep getting better.

Does anyone know if he is leaving Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures as well, or just Doctor Who? I think Steven Moffat will do a killer job, not only on DW but he would also make a killer Torchwood. His adult-humor (eg Coupling) and horror (eg anything else he has done) I think would be a bit too much for the younger audience of the Sarah Jane Adventures though.

I want to see a turn of the century Torchwood spin off now. I loved the steampunk feel they had in the last couple of episodes. Plus, John Barrowman looks bad *** with mutton chops! "Torchwood-1900 anyone?"

IF rtd stays on torchwood he will have more time to spend on it now that he is Wholess...the 5 episodes over 5 consecutive nights is all i've heard at the mo too...apart from the fact that John boy has signed for season 3...certainly looks like micky and martha maybe joining them...after all they are charecters created by rtd.
