Cool...lol...what I love about the dvd is that it still has the overture in it...do you remember the days when films had overtures before it started so that you could get everyone settled....some even had one half way through as well so you could get ya popcorn and chocice etc

      Hmmm,
I'm trying to remember what movies I personally remember with beginning overtures.

      The Black Hole
      Star Trek The Motion Picture
      Taras Bulba (Tony Curtis)
      Ten Commandments
      Jason and the Argonauts
Perhaps --- Fiddler on the Roof (I forgot)

That's all I can think of off the top of my head

I miss the old local cinemas, the little ones, that showed B-movies (and C, D, E,....)

There were so many of them, and you could sit through the same movie twice if you wanted. One, The Century Theatre, showed a bad horror movie each week. I remember going, and being the only visitor there. That was scary. Watching this on my own in this slightly run-down theatre. What was scarier, was going out at the end and seeing one guy sitting in the back row, just a shadow.

About twenty years ago, the theatre closed, and they sold off stacks of movie posters. I got several original fifties posters, Dracula (Chris Lee), Creature from the Black Lagoon, Mole People,...
They charged $0.50 apiece. Printed on the empty white space above are the original movie showing times, and the theatre's name.

You know what the most psychedelic experience was? The Rex wasn't doing all too well, and in the afternoons they played "regular movies", and later at night adult movies.
As my mom and I came out of "The Smurfs", guys in long raincoats were going in.

Jeez, my childhood was messed up.....

I watch it about once a year, the mix of Disney with dark seemed to work for me as a kid, it's more obvious now but I still like it. My wife almost cried the first time she watched it, ahhhhhh Disney.

We have two "Art house" theaters in town and they show all sorts of stuff. Hilight of my life: seeing "Inframan" on the big screen! ("Should you ever find yorself frozen in a block of ice....")

And I still love The Black Hole. Really, REALLY odd film. It was probably mentioned before but I was told the reason it turned out the way it did was 'cso the production crew was divided into two camps: one wanted to make a kids film, one wanted a serious space adventure. So that's why you get the cute face-off between the good robot and the bad, followed by the evil robot gutting a guy.
