What do you think of the Who RESTORATION TEAM ?

Vidfire, cleaning up and sometimes altering sounds ... sometimes totally rebuilding scenes ......

What do you think of these guys ?

Me personally, being a movie/TV purist ... I really should hate a lot of the stuff they do ...
    Surprisingly, I don't ...
I think they do an awesome job 99.999% of the time

My worst gripe was the pan-scene at the beginning of Tomb.
I dunno what they did, but it made me dizzy.

So what do you think of the Doctor Who RESTORATION TEAM ?

I think they are wonderful guys and gals......they obviously love the show so major consideration goes into anything they restore.....the ability on most discs to watch with updated effects or original shows they know there are purists out there.
The animated Invasion episodes were inspired and it was something fans had been suggesting for years....so they listen too...the work they did with the Silurians was outstanding...the doc about it on the disc is well worth watching.
they truely are the unsung heros of the Dr Who dvd world.

I recently got the DVD version of the Silurians ...... (from the Beneath the Surface boxed set)

I haven't watched it yet because I just watched my boot VHS version a couple of months ago.

Is the new DVD version really good ?

The VHS version's colour seemed really washed out ......
About as bad as the Daemons.

Yeah it's far superior to the vhs...the doc explains how they matched the colour from the existing NTSC colour versions (only colour copy available) with the superior picture of the mnaster black and white print by stretching and shaping the picture to keep the picture clean and not fuzzy as in the vhs version.

          Hmmmm....

I think it's nice to get some of these episodes no matter HOW I get them. In some cases there's not a lot to work with.
