Dune: Part 2 is visually stunning, certainly.
Even with a running time of 165 minutes, certain aspects of the story were rushed.
Villeneuve says he's working on the script for a third movie, which would adapt the second book, Dune Messiah.

That was my experience as well. Read the book about a year after I saw it. The only movie I've ever seen where I was handed a glossary sheet at the entrance. Not sure who thought it was a good idea having the audience looking up words like Kwisatz Haderach in a dark theater.

Sorry for taking so long, it has been a busy long weekend.

Boyfriend & I went and watch Dune pt 2 Thursday at 3pm. Unfortunately, our local theater did not have any special buckets or cups. So we got the burger, fries and drink special. The movie picks up after the first one and it goes by rather quick for a 3 hour movie. Still, it feels like they cut out some connecting scenes when dealing with the sandworms. Overall, it worth watching at the theater to experience it on a big screen, but we will only go once and cannot wait to watch Dune 1 & 2 at home.

I'll probably see it soon, but didn't love part 1. Visually it's fine, and I've read the books, and know the lore, but I also really like Lynch's version from 1984, so maybe that's the problem.

I remember going in to see it at the theater in 1984 completely without any Dune context. I went away thinking it was cool, but really odd and have grown to like it a lot over the years after many re-watches.

I don't think they needed Dune's help for that.

When I watched part 1 on HBO Max, I sort of wished I could have watched it on the big screen, many of the scenes and imagery were amazing.

I never held Lynch’s Dune on that type of high regard (just my humble opinion). I found Kyle MacLachlan’s Paul Atreides constant whispering throughout the movie annoying. However, I have eased up on it over the years. So I now find it nostalgic and have grown to appreciate it. But I much prefer this new version. The first was was probably my favorite movie of the year. And you better believe I’m watching part 2, oh heck yeah…looks amazing…
