Well....what can I say........watched the last episode of Who twice tonight and am unsure how I feel about it.......some GREAt dialogue from Davros that really...tears into the Doctor.....great first half of the episode ...but I think I feel disappointed with the resolution......SPOILERS BELOW...




































WAS NOT happy with the regeneration and two Doctors.....WAS NOT happy with what happened to Donna....seemed a lazy rehash of season 1's Rose being empowered by the TARDIS....GREAT effects and as mentioned above Davros is superb he really is one of the best arch enemies of the Doctor when the dialogue is well written ...and fortunately his dialogue was great...loved the I have created the daleks but what have you made Doctor speech....As mentioned watch till the very end of the credits and you'll get a very brief glimpse of what's in store for christmas...

I loved it, very sad and provided a nice resolution to the Rose thing.

Geek Moments: Davros recognizing Sarah Jane, Doctor recognizing Gwen, K-9 Appearing. It was like a total geek fest.

It was but I think the whole regeneration thing diminishes the previous and future regenerations to a gimmick that can be altered at will for the sake of resolution. Loved the geek moments...Elisabeth Sladen showed some fine acting in this episode and the last one....I LOVE HER.....lol....no really...i genuinely love her.
K-9 was great and I loved Davros....the whole soul thing and ripping into the Doctors feelings and providing a bit of spin on the way most people look at the Doctor's Heroic stance...Yes he does turn people into weapons to do some of his dirty work for him...Sarah Jane is a great example of this...although she uses no weapons, as the Doctor doesn't< she still wrecks havok in her own series. What has been great with the rebooted Who has been RTD's treatment of the companions...fleashing them out and showing repracussions to companions lives and their family's and an insight into what happens to them when they are left behind.

I loved what they did with Davros. Never thought I'd ever see him HAPPY!
I hated what they did to Donna. What happened, including the regeneration, was contrived and unnecessary. A solution artificially created to suit an artificially made problem. How terrible, to find your life's purpose, and then have it erased completely.
This was just poor writing, to create a moment of drama.
So, mixed feelings here...

While I wasn't in love with it ... I think it was a whole lot better then season 3's finale.

One thing ....
Every Dalek story always shows a few or at least one Dalek escaping at the conclusion.......
I couldn't find one in this one.
I hope the Daleks aren't gone for good.

I do like how they resolved the whole Rose/Doctor love affair thing.
I'm sure most Nutty Classic Geeks will hate what they did, but I thought it was ok.

One thing I didn't like ........
The Daleks wanting to destroy the whole universe.
If they did accomplish this... what were they planning on doing afterwards ?
Take up knitting ?

I don't think it was counted as a regeneration ..... Because he really didn't regenerate -- He stopped the regeneration when he was healed.

Every cell in his body did not change like a normal regeneration, that would take all his regeneration power.

I read it more like he just tapped a bit of regen. power

I hope the Daleks haven't gone for good,maybe Davros used an emergency temporal shift and i did not see Dalek Khan die either,also if the Time war isn't locked,will we see any timelords?

Great to see K-9 have a cameo,Davros remembered Sarah Jane and bits that linked up throughout the season.Cybermen for Xmas then

Well. . .the Master outlived his allowed number of regenerations didn't he. . .I can't remember the whole story or how he did it. . . but they'll ge around it. . .just stay tuned.

A bigger waste of a regeneration. . . I hate to say (as I have said before), was C E, I mean why even start filming a new doctor. . . without at least a 3 year contract (water tight), when you know that it is a legendary figure with only so many lives. . .it isn't like Bond is it.

Can't see them wasting Davros ...too good a character not to come back...was VERY disappointed we didn't get a reveal of the supreme Dalek...I mean those clamps had to hide something didn't they???? Also unhappy that the reveal of the puppet master controlling everything was dalek caan...expected more...I mean this was supposed to be THE finale of all finales wasn't it...RTD's big goodbye to the show...oh well Now Moffat's in charge hopefully some decent writing will emerge...not from the christmas specials though...I think RTD still had some influence on them...I'll wait till 2010 full season.
Watched it again tonight and the dialogue is still the best thing in it...hated the doctordonna though....just sounded like one of Tate's comedy characters.....also what happened to the Shadow proclamation?????? wasn't seen OR mentioned in the last episode...I had hopes of a Judoon fleet steaming in and having a battle with the Dalek fleet...just imagine Judoon troopers picking up daleks and smashing them....oh well.

It's been mentioned before that the Doctor is "more than a Timelord"...so maybe the normal regeneration cycle doesn't affect him....also there has been a glimpse of the pre-final Doctor played by Micheal Jayson A character between the Doctors 12 and Final Regeneration. There is also the Watcher a figure between the Doctors 3rd and 4th regeneration...."Twin Dilemma" revealed that Time Lords do have a thirteenth regeneration, but because there normally is not a fourteenth incarnation using this last regeneration is generally fatal for a Time Lord.
The Master was offered a new set of regenerations in the Five Doctors ...so there must be a way to circumnavigate the problem....maybe Gallifreyan technology could only support a certain number of beings (Timelords are linked to their Tardis so maybe this restricts the amount of beings?), but now they are gone there is no restriction on the amount of regenerations a Timelord can have....just some food for thought...
