I don't think I've ever seen Highlander before. I've heard about it, but I've never seen it. I hate remakes.

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE !

And there should only be one.
Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
          Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.

Hey! Hollywood people! Come up with an original idea for once! Quit remaking stuff! Jeez...

            Hollywood thought process:
"Duh, hey! We got computer-generated special effects and stuff now! We can make all the...duh...old movies better! We don't need to make anything new anymore! We got thousands of old movies to 'fix'! Duh, All we need is ILM, bad modern actors, a few CGI characters, and we're golden! We don't need a good script or good acting, we got computer k-splosions! Let's remake "Gone With The Wind" with some...duh...k-splosions! Who needs good acting when we've got computer-generated k-splosions?"

"I prefer to remain an enigma."

              >Hollywood people! Come up with an original idea for once!

Sad fact; a lot of potential audience would be turned OFF by a new idea. That's one reason they do so many remakes: name recognition attracts a lot of people.

Sad fact 2: one day, probably SOON, everything with a recongnizable name will be remade. If you can name it now, someone is probably pitching it as a big budget film. (I wouldn't be surprised to see a "My Mother The Car" film in my lifetime.) Check out the comics forum, where they're discussing the "Galaxy Quest" comic coming out soon. So.... it's a comic, based on a parody, of the FANS of Star Trek? Er....

oh no ... I hope they don't the original is the only good one and a remake will only take away

now if they wanted to do a new film ... I'd love to see one made on the back story of the Kurgan ... see what made him so evil.

                    It's over 20 years old.
The movies after the first one have been worse and worse, the last one was horible.

                    It's time for a re-make with a good buget.

I wonder if they will have another Kurgan with a throat full of gravel voice? Let's not forget the rockin' Mullets! I wonder who they would cast for the roles?

The Highlander concept: There can be only one.
                          Well, maybe two.
                          Three, tops!
Well, you're twisting my arm, but maybe four at most.
OK, OK, but this fifth one is the last one.

Highlander films are like beers. They just keep on coming.
Personally, one beer is just right for me.

The first movie was good, the rest was crap.
                          There!
                          Nuff said...
                          .
                          .
                          .

The first film was a cult classic all the rest of the films were horrible (each showing that Chritpher Lambert and later Adrian Paul will do anything for a paycheck)

The series was OK for the first couple years but how it lasted like 10 seasons I'll never know and at the end it was SOOO done (kind of like Stargate)

A new version could be good (ie new Doctor Who) OR it could be REALLY AWFUL (Miami Vice the movie) simply abusing the brand Loyalty to Highlander of it's rabid fans.

Maybe their casting Will Farrel or Jim Carey and are playing it for laughs?
