anyone watch this yet? I am 3 episodes in. It's apparently in the world of Alien, although I haven't figured out the connection yet. it's pretty weird but I am intrigued. war between atheists and the religious destroyed the world and survivors trying to repopulate elsewhere in the galaxy. the androids are similar to those from Alien. some of them anyway

It's on HBO Max and yeah I watched it last week. Well shot, odd writing sort of, but I feel it has a deeper story to it they haven't really touched on I think. I'm interested in seeing where season 2 might go.Comment

Holy shaiiit! I just binge watched it in two days...WHAT AN AWESOME WEIRD ORIGINAL TOP NOTCH AND AGAIN WEIRD EPIC SHOW!!!
I friggin loved it!!! LOVED IT!!!
The Necromancer is terrifyingly awesome.
That kid actor who plays Campion, my goodness, what a great little actor, unreal.
Beautiful cinematography, great score, reminds me of Prometheus (looking at you, Ridley Scott).
Glad I finally got HBOMax.
I devoured all ten episodes.
I can’t wait for season 2!!!Last edited by Hector; Dec 24, '20, 10:17 AM.sigpicComment

^^ I just started a bender too… lots of interesting ideas and stylistic goodness, yet definitely strange. Also feels like an homage to 70's alien planet movies as the religious freakers traipse around to their doom.
The giant serpent alien skeletons and their holes still remain mysterious several episodes in.Comment

it is a cool show. i expect i will have to rewatch S1 before starting S2 when it comes out. there was just so much weird stuff going on i will never remember it all for S2Comment

The show is like a blend of Earth 2, Forbidden Planet, House on the Prairie, Dune, Lost, Prometheus, Survivor, Blade Runner, Alien, and I don’t know what else...it’s a very odd, unique, and wonderful fresh take on a weirdly dystopian world of religion vs atheism.
Did I already say that I couldn’t wait for season 2?

Excellent show, I look forward to S2. The only problem with shows like this is it's been such a long time since S1 that I think I've forgotten a lot about what was happening. It's like the next Stranger Things, Umbrella Academy or Man in the High Castle. I think I'll have to rewatch a lot of stuff.Comment
