OK. . .I am guessing from looking at the other You-Tube clips with the Life on Mars Title. . .that it was a great UK show. . .remade in US. . .and not looking good by comparison?????? Keeping Mum Vs Mother and Son-esque!

It must have been on here. . .I am sure I have heard the title. . .maybe ads or people talking about it parhaps. I note the guy who played "The Master" is the main lead in the UK one.

That's right...John Simms...but the main reason for watching was Phil Glinnister who played Gene Hunt....superb....it was a great sci-fi...cop show...brilliantly written and very well made....you'd enjoy it Dave...track down a copy of it...you WON'T be disappointed.

I agree John,I haven't seen the original so i have no expectations or anything to compare it to,so it looks good enough to watch

It is a two way street there John. I guess it is just what they think will be more commercial for each market. You couldn't remake Benny Hill or Monty Python. . .but movies and Sit Coms from other places have often been remade for the US audience. Three Men and a Baby was a french film for example. Vanilla Sky. Threes Company was a rip from the UK Man About the House.

Maybe they wanted to go more effects wise. . . or maybe.. . .since going to the UK. . .is a bit like going back to the 70's in the first place . . .they thought they may get more time differentiation from a US remake.

Nothing against the UK. . .for me. . .it just feels like going back in time. . .so the shooting wouldn't give as much time differentiation to the scenes I'm thinking.

They showed the original on BBC America and I saw a few, it was good with a great Brit cast.

No way Benny Hill could be remade. There was only one Benny. If the English can remake threes company (a crap sitcom) why can't we redo a good one?
