I started wathing the the 4th ep to make sure it was the episode and opening credits show it is.

I think you'll find that this is the part 4 done with existing clips and telesnaps taken of the episode.

If and when the full version is available I will fork over the money I bought the telesnaps version of VHS and I'm not buying it again till it's completed

many people have "paid" for the missing episode of The Tenth Planet....it has been touted before for people for quite substantial note...only to be a hoax or con.....out of all the missing episodes this was the one most likely to turn up as it wasn't in the junking of episodes...when the kids tv show "Blue Peter" were doing a piece on the 3 doctors 10th anniversary show they booked out the episode to show a clip from it (this is the reason the regeneration scene survives as that was the clip used) and it was never returned...so it's out there somewhere....

Yes it was put together. Seems like the original sound was there but no video. They did a good job to get the story across.

They also used this method for "The Ice Warriors" for the vhs release....not bad if its a couple of episodes. I've got the enhanced cd version of the audio "Power of the Daleks" which has the same format for using on the pc....it's fantastic to see it but you get no feel of the visuals as it is all telesnaps.

Supposedly someone in the UK has a copy of the actual episode of Part
Four. It'd be real nice if they'd give it to the BBC.

Yeah well they have tried ....even holding an amnisty for anyone bringing back episodes...they wont take them back off you just want to copy it...a couple of years ago they were even offering a full size dalek to anyone who brought back episodes.

This may sound hopeless but I read somewheres that they really don't expect to find any more lost episodes out there, (10th Planet Episode 4 and anything selfish hoarders are witholding on purpose non-withstanding). Since the push in the 1980's to retrieve lost stories the BEEB feels that the word has been out long enough. Probably there are no more eps floating about waiting to be returned- they would have been sent in by now.

If there was any last hope, it might be from a non English spreaking country that doesn't know (or care) about the value of finding lost episodes....

Perhaps they have something hidden in their basements ......

Yeah, but that doesn't mean they WON'T find more. Someone could have a set of prinis right now, but not realize it 'cos it's up in the attick with all their Grandpa's other stuff that they haven't sorted through yet.

As for "The Tenth Planet" it's one of my faves! I've got the vhs version with the stills and audio track for the mising parts. For me I'd much rather see what I can of the lost episodes instead of not seeing them at all. (Which is why I recommend the box set that's all sniglets from lost episodes.) I love the "guy in ski mask" Cybermen too.

Funny thing; nobody ever does an episode where newer versions of a monster meet older ones.

Tomb was a complete suprise and was found in Hong Kong in 1991 I think...clips from fury from the deep from Australia turned up in 1996 and clips from dalek Masterplan in 1998....so there is hope still....another episode from Dalek masterplan "the Traitors" also went missing when on loan to Blue Peter in 1973...so that too could turn up.

They are still up and doing recons, I have about 12 of them so far, Power of the Daleks has no surving epsiodes but the recon is better then not seeing it at all, Now if only they would make them aviable on DVD
