The Enemy Within

Just watched Star Trek's The Enemy Within on TV-Land this morning...

Something that struck me, that I never thought of before ......

I used to HATE Spock's final comment to Rand, "The...imposter had some.....interesting qualities" and then snickered.

I always thought that was a really inappropriate comment to say to someone who was almost raped ....

But, today --- I kind of read it differently.

It almost sounds like Spock is making fun of Kirk behind his back.
His comment is still inappropriate, but it doesn't sound like a dig to Rand.

I dunno Mike. I see a pattern here. Remmeber the end of Mirror Mirror? Spock built on that and went off way more than in this episode. And remember when they said how they admired Khan in Space Seed and Spock was shocked by the thought of it? I think it builds and builds thu the show.
