This costume was also worn for publicity photographs during production, and was likely reused in Beneath the Planet of the Apes, and the spinoff television series , each of which also featured Stewart .
Wait? Stewart was in "Beneath"? And in the TV series? How did I MISS that?Comment

… and let's not forget to keep the fires burnin' hot for Super7 Series 2 which look crazy excellent:

I just received the Making of the Planet of the Apes book yesterday in the mail from Amazon.
Simply put, it's INCREDIBLE! I highly recommend it to any PoTA fan of the original movie. Gorgeous photography, loads of conceptual & pre-production art, in-depth behind the scenes information, excerpts from Charlton Heston's personal journal (including some sketches - who knew that the guy could draw as well as act?), interviews (including Pierre Boulle), and a whole bunch more. $60 cover price that I got for $37 and change from Amazon - the book itself feels like it weighs 10 pounds. Do yourself a favor and go get this book now!Comment

Interesting! reading the description and going "Huh?" at this:

Yeah, that description is pretty far off-base... As we know, no women astronauts appeared in either "BENEATH" or the TV series... The closest thing to a woman astronaut appearing in the TV series universe is/was in one of the British annuals, when an astronaut named Verina Bolton appears in a story called "From Out of the Sky".Comment

Also, if anyone here has read Drew Gaska's "Conspiracy on the Planet of the Apes" book from several years back, his follow up book, "Death of the Planet of the Apes", will be available in stores on November 13th. This one's supposed to follow Taylor's off screen story of his time with the Mutants in "BENEATH".Comment

Picked up "The Making of Planet of the Apes" the other day, and you and Obibob are right-This is an excellent book... Haven't started reading it yet (other than glancing at a few things), but will soon, after I finish up a couple other books I'm currently reading... I'm sure it'll be an excellent read...
Also, I ordered Gaska's "Death of the Planet of the Apes", since they didn't have it in stock at their store.. Should arrive in a few days... ($14.95 for this Titan Books trade paperback.)Last edited by apes3978; Nov 19, '18, 7:07 AM.Comment
