I just can't get into it.
I don't mind a female Doctor, but her performance (and lines) seem a bit "trying too hard". And apparently she knows everyone in our entire history. Hmmm.

The stories so far have been pretty uninspired. Like this one, we've seen all of this in several bad B-movies. There was no twist to the story, just "big spiders on the loose".
I simply lose interest halfway through the episode. Maybe young kids find this somewhat entertaining, but it doesn't work for me.

Chibnall should be fired as soon as possible!

I'm anxious to see an episode that isn't written by Chris Chibnall.

My son was quick to point out that the previous Chibnall Who scripts before his tenure as showrunner are not high points.

Some of them are good but none of them are great IMO. Also, he wrote and co-produced the "Cyberwoman" episode of "Torchwood", which is just terrible.

I haven't been able to make it completely through any of the Whittaker episodes.

This version of The Doctor just doesn't appeal to me at all.

I really wanted to like it. I've been a Doctor Who fan for 43 years.

I don't think my problem is with Jodie as much as it is with the writing. It just isn't very good.

I'm not a fan of the Doctor's traveling companions either.

Nothing about this season works for me.

What a sad, angry, condescending and entitled sounding man he seems. I'd hate to have to live in his head.

That said, I'm liking the spider ep even less than I initially did the more I think about it, and I was pretty down on it to begin with. I usually give each series a second spin the week before the finale airs, and I'm already wondering how it will sit once I take another bite.

THAT said, still filled with hope over the next 6 adventures!

Interesting video. The narrator seems upset that a white male was a villain in the episode. I seem to recall quite a few other Doctor Who episodes with white males as the bad guys.

I honestly haven't seen the episode yet so I really don't have an opinion on it yet. I did enjoy Rosa.

I'll wait until next season to pass judgement. 1st seasons always don't go smooth. 2nd season is when it takes off.

On the plus side only 26 more episodes until a new doctor and a new tardis.

Yes, better to have them slowly starve to death, or, more likely, resort to cannibalism and then starve to death rather than good ol' short sharp shocked euthanasia. Or, like, a resolution consistent with the Doctor's intelligence and ethos. Graham, at the very least, still has a bit of an infestation problem waiting for him back at his flat, too. Good thing spiders only have like 6 or 8 babies at a time! Whew!

I've never listed plot hole hunting as a hobby of mine, but when my weekend soap just abruptly cuts to the ending like there's a missing reel I can't help my fool brain from trying to fill in the gaps.

Just trapped them in there to die, a humane death i guess? It wasn't great.

That one was pretty good, I enjoyed the time to give the crew a motivation to be there.

My only quibble would be the cardboard bad guy again, basically there so the Doctor could tell him to shut up. It's not new for the series but two in a row gives me pause.
