Fav and Least Fav WHO regenerations

What's your fav and least fav regenerations ?

My list would be (starting with fav)

    1. Sly to Paul MaGann --- nicely done

    2. Hartnell to Troughton --- (there's just something historical about that regeneration)

    3. Pertwee to Baker --- Primative, but still a good show

    4. Davison to Colin --- I got bored with all the "die Doctors", but loved how Colin popped up at the end

    5. Troughton to Pertwee (really felt cheated on that one)

    6. Colin to Sly --- see #5

    7. Paul to Chris --- see #5

    8. Chris to David ....... I hate the "hot under the collar" look ... also, I thought the Doctor has to DIE before regenerating ? .... Not regenerate standing ...... Hell, even the new Master did that ... I hate that.

1 William Hartnell to Pat Troughton...original and still best
2 Sly to McGann...pipped to the top only for slys gurning early on in the regen
3 Pertwee to Baker...."Here we go again"
    4 Baker to Davison
    5 Eccleston to Tennant
The Doctor doesn't have to die prior to regenerating....it can be triggered by the timelord him/herself willingly. Also once the timelords body has reached a point where it cannot heal itself of the injuries are too severe, then regeneration kicks in. Also it seems (Romana) Timelords can choose bodies prior to settling on one.

          Most disappointing regeneration?
From the magnificent Derek Jacobi, to the "would you like to see my Tom Baker impression" hyperactive Master.
          Dis-ap-poin-ted!!!!!!!!

Man I soooo agree with you...it would have been nice to have Jacobi ...who out acted the entire cast for the last 30 odd years in only a few scenes....for all 3 Master stories and him regenerating into Simms at the end....that scene where he looks down at the fob watch then looks up with pure evil and realisation in his eyes is just pure, pure magic....

No, if a Timelord dies there's no regeneration. Once they're dead that's it.

The regeneration process is triggered to prevent death.
