I've been enjoying the new show so far, no match for the originals but enjoyable in its own right. Not a big fan of Gypsy's makeover though. Some of the films have been given some pretty nice HD transfers, they look pretty good.

    Avalanche was perfect for MST3K.
Yeah be comparison I'm not a huge fan of Comic book men but I watch every episode but they are showcasing vintage comics into pop culture.

I will admit there some MST3K movies I would enjoy without the riffing. But films like Land that time forgot aren't exactly advertised and easy to find (if you aren't looking for them)
And occasionally There is a gem that they cover. (The girl in gold boots not being one of them)

Oh man, I dunno, it's pretty bleak last i watched it. I kind of like that downer quality, just not sure it'd be great for a larf.

Some interesting movie choices. I wanted to see The Land that time forgot and Avalanche for a while now.

No problem with the movies, its just really lackluster, even compared to later seasons. The joke writing seems to be lacking.

It grows on you, the movie choices are pretty great. One is a lost Al Adamson movie.

^^^ I had a hard time liking it so far, Gypsy's annoying, Jonah's a complete pill, and the jokes seem few and far between. Joel would have been better off trying to get more of the original staff back. I agree on the Forrester character, she's really bland.

Well, i was worried about it but I liked the first two shows and the new look thus far.

Jonah's delivery needs work but I imagine that'll improve, Day doesn't really work for me but she's not a focal point of the series so I'm fine.

MST3K is my favorite TV series of all time

I love it unequivocally... in every incarnation, from KTMA to Comedy Central to SciFi channel.

I think I am the only one to date to make a Mego set of MST3K

But it belongs in the past. Let it live there, perfect and unsullied for all time.

I can't get enthused for this return, any more than I could for when Netflix brought back Mr. Show. They were of their time, and each in their way perfect.

And I'm aware of the irony of saying this on a site dedicated to the memory of old toys, but one can't keep looking back. No matter how much one loves the past.

Let MST3K remain in Deep 13. It ended with Danger:Diabolik. It was a perfect end.

He who binds himself to a joy
    does the winged life destroy
But who kisses the joy as it flies
    Lives in eternity's sunrise

I have classic Favs too. Mine are Prince of Space & Soul Taker. Seen them so many times I know all the lines but still laugh so hard I cry. My husband doesn't get and just looks at me weird.

I'm excited too! As a teen MST3k was what we would marathon every Saturday.
It was my introduction to the Sci-Fi channel, back when when was spelled correctly.
Patton Oswald is great in every role he is in, and I ADORE the redhead, Felicia Day. Most people know her from Supernatural, but she is an internet celeb gamer that can sing & act too. If you look her up on You Tube you will not be disappointed.
