    Quark

No not the Ferengi, the garbage man. Does anybody remember the short lived 1977 TV show about a space garbage collection crew created by Buck Henry?

Anyone care to share their thoughts on this one?
Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
    Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.
In the halls of Valhalla where the brave may live forever.

I only remember the Ferengi...oh and xpress.
Was it an eco type programme with them telling us how messy we are.

Over here we had The Wombles.

They used to clean up Wimbledon Common Park.

Sorry I may have gone off topic...slightly...again

I loved Quark as a kid and when I watched it as an adult, I still enjoyed it. I thought it would be juvenile but it was pretty smart and plenty weird.

Quark was great ~ You wince now when you watch the jokes fall flat, but I loved Ficus and Gene/Jean. You can download all the eps off the official Quark site on the web. I really got into it last year for a while, 'UFO' the year before. Drove the wife nuts.

The 2-part episode with Ross Martin as the space emperor was the best..!

I could sit through most sci-fi things when I was a kid, but I never really got into this. I did dig those twins, though. When I saw this thread, I just assumed Brian had posted it.

BTW, here's an ep on youtube-

          YouTube - Quark 70's sitcom Part 3

AND as an added bonus, the end credits followed by an NBC news break and then some commercials from WMAQ in Chicago from 1978

            Quark ruled!!!! WOOOOO!!!!!!

I loved it when I was a kid, and having watched it a few weeks back (converting my vhs to dvd) I gotta say it's still pretty funny. In an odd way it was cathartic for me: Quark was a garbageman, which made sense.... but why do you never see "ordinary" guys like garbagemen, repair people, telemarketers and such.... in OTHER space shows?

            That's bothered me ever since.
