Next Star Wars Movie Title/Chapter is....

We have the greatest fans in this or any other galaxy. In appreciation of the fans, we wanted them to be the first to know the title of the next chapter in the Skywalker saga: STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI.
THE LAST JEDI is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski.
STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI is scheduled for release December 15, 2017.

It's all good. Was also the title of Marvel issue 49: https://www.bleedingcool.com/2017/01...marvel-comics/ which was a great read, featuring an alien character who had a very, VERY similar relationship to the Force as Chirrut Imwe in Rogue One.

Not unprecedented either. An early Marvel issue was titled "The Empire Strikes", well before Episode V hit the screens.

I had that issue as a kid, it came in a polybagged 3 pack with 2 other Star Wars issues (16 & 17 I think)...

I like the title, but:

1. It doesn't make me really optimistic that Luke makes it through this one. I hope I'm wrong about that.
2. The original trilogy names tend to be shortened... "Empire" or "Jedi". This kind of screws that up for "Jedi".

Rumor has it the title refers to Luke being the last "true" Jedi. Rey could become something different from a Jedi. Kinda like how Kylo uses the Dark Side but isn't really a Sith.
