    The Doctor's Daughter

I just watched The Doctor's Daughter on youtube...

Not bad, but for some reason it seems this whole season is of lesser quality then the past 3.

I won't give any spoiler until you've seen it .....

    Haven't seen it yet ?

    Well, here it is

    The Doctor's Daughter

    1 -------- YouTube - Season 4, Episode 6: The Doctor's Daughter (Part 1)

    3--------- YouTube - Season 4, Episode 6: The Doctor's Daughter (Part 3)

    4 ---------- YouTube - Season 4, Episode 6: The Doctor's Daughter (Part 4)

I have to agree, this season feels weak for some reason. Too much running, too many explosions (Michael Bay syndrome?),...
I'm also getting to dislike the coming and going of potential companions. A new one is introduced (Kylie Minogue for example), a lot of empathy is generated for that individual, then they kill'em off in the same episode. Cheap thrills, guys!
It feels like the Who crew now has too many toys to play with (George Lucas syndrome?)

And Donna is constantly going back and forth between super rude and super sensitive.
Perhaps it is time for a breather....

I loved the episode. Peter davison daughter is wonderful, and if seems this story is a backdoor pilot for a new series. I hope it is and I want to see her agian, she has potential.
This season is a wrap up season, story treads from all the past seasons, will be wrapped up from what I have heard. as well as it will set the stages for the next set of specials, If you want a breather it will come next season, since the next season will only be 4 specials. the year after that it will be back to the full 13 ep season.
This season is the wrap up so it is setting the stages for a big huge finally. what that is I WILL NOT TELL YOU SINCE IT WILL OR MAY RUIN IT FOR YOU.
p.s. Rumour mill is saying Tom Baker will be back in some form for the christman special or one of the upcoming specials, perhaps in the same sense as Peter Davison's Dr showed up last year.

I read this on another site.
This guy is usually right, 9 times out of 10.

It's also rumoured that an extra special story will be written for the 45th anniversary to be broadcast on the 23rd November 2008 starring Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Tom Baker and David Tennant with special appearances by other guest actors (Eccleston?). Alternately this special may appear as a Children in Need extravaganza. With Peter Davison and Tom Baker confirming they would return for a cameo if asked.

I would love to see something like that but I doubt it would happen. Fingers crossed though. As for "The Doctor's Daughter", I thought it was a steaming pile which had me laughing out loud in disbelief! I think you guys have a point about the season being extremely weak so far. As the majority of the rest of the season are being written by RTD, the only story I'm holding out any hope for is the Steven Moffat 2 parter. There must be better writers out there with a decent enough imagination to actually write something worthwhile.

As for Donna, I quite like her, I had my doubts at first but she's been the only good thing about the season so far IMO.

With all Doctors/actors subject to the ravages of time, I wonder how they'll look in their old costumes....

I thought the whole plot of "The Doctor's Daughter" was just a gimmick. It came and went like nothing happened, just long enough for Tennant to shed some tears. They could have done so much more with it....

I didn't know what the story was about up until the time I actually watched it.

I thought it was about THE REAL Doctor's Daughter (perhaps even Susan's mother)

In the first 2 minutes when I found she was just some kind of clone of the Doctor, that totally ruined the rest of the story.
I didn't care what happened after the first 2 minutes.

I was a bit disapointed by this too, when they advertised The Doctors Daughter i thought great it may be Susan, but it wasn't and felt disapointed, the Hath(fish heads ) were quite good, simple designed creatures too.Even the Sontaran 2 parter was a bit slow to get off.

In this weeks Radio Times there is a Cyberman on the cover so it looks like they are back soon, there are rumours that Davros will be back, maybe a season's finale?

I'd hoped it was something like that too, but at least they acknowledged later on that he'd already been a father.

It was interesting that she came back to life without regenerating.
I wonder if there will be another spin off with her as the lead?
It sort of reminds me of the Kadiatu Lethbridge-Stewart character from the New adventures novels.

                        I personally hope not

                        We already have ...
                        Doctor Who
                        Torchwood
                        Sarah Jane

If they push their luck too far with too many new series all based around the same thing, they're gunna have the same thing happen to them as the later Star Trek series's...
Meaning, they're all going to get on peoples nerves-- and eventually they all will crash, taking Doctor Who with them.

Certainly was a better episode than I expected it to be...I also feel this season has been poor bar 1 or 2 episodes...we still have Moffet's 2 parter to come....I feel they have purposly made this season weak so to make the season finale have a bigger impact and be more memorable....RTD's swan song? Tennant's Swan song....see my other threads as regaurds spoilers and rumours, there's been plenty of them.

Tom Baker has aged quite a bit, but I thought it would be awsome to bring him back in some fashion such as...

What if Rose found The Doctor in the new dimension she is now living in, but he is still in his fourth incarnation? That is that he never fell off the radio telescope tower in Logopolis and never had to regenerate. That would eliminate paradox since it is not the same timeline, and would explain his aging.

I just watched Doctor Who (Agatha Christie Episode)
I had a cup of Darjeeling tea...and a Snickers bar.
                              Lovely.
