    I like that theory! Although I'd still prefer a male(Kirk type)Captain.

oh well, that was the only way they were going to get me to watch it. I read it was streaming there in the same article with the MST3K news for Netflix. Guess they got it wrong. Hope its better than Next Gen, that was like watching paint dry.

Someday, when people wonder how the "big networks" squandered a 20 million viewer audience to become completely irrelevant... this will be Exhibit A.

              sounds promising!
              * While Fuller and “Star Trek Into Darkness” screenwriter Alex Kurtzman wrote the first hour of “Star Trek: Discovery,” the second hour was scripted by Nicholas Meyer ("Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan," “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home,” “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country”).

Oh man, I would totally watch a show about Number 1! I always liked the look of the original pilot costumes and sets. If that's where they going visually, I'm in.

                      Delayed until May 2017:

CBS has pushed back the premiere of its highly anticipated "Star Trek: Discovery" series to May 2017. The spinoff of "The Good Wife" will bow in February 2017.

A busy Bryan Fuller stepping back as Discovery show runner. And even tho production is slated to begin next month, the lead still hasn't been cast..

Bryan Fuller is stepping back from the showrunner role of CBS' "Star Trek: Discovery" as he juggles production responsibilities on two other series, Variety has learned exclusively.

What I just read makes me hope it never happens. It sounds like it has too much garbage forced into it before it starts.

Can you elaborate on what you "just read"? And what the "garbage" is?

I just don't get how anyone can have a strong opinion one way or another on the prospective content of the show, since there have been little to no details revealed as of yet, and it hasn't even started production..
