Force Awakens hits Blu Ray next month.

Force Awakens on Blu Ray and DVD April 5.

The latest film in the Star Wars saga arrives on multiple formats this April, along with several retailer-exclusive editions!
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

    Seems awfully fast.

I thought they'd go the money-grubbing route and rerelease it in theatres in the summer before home video

I curious to see how many stores have their own versions. Either exclusive content or packaging. Or both. I will be surprised if Disney doesn't release an extended version of the film at some point.

those exclusives were all listed as 3 disc sets. the one on Amazon is only listed as a 1 disc set. I will wait until it is closer to order it, maybe we will get better details on what is on the different sets

I'm wondering what's already been changed from theatrical release...

well Abrahms has said there will be no special edition of the movie. but I do find it interesting that on Amazon is refers to the movie as theatrical release

That's a relief. Not that it was the best thing since sliced bread, but I'm glad they are keeping it original.

I find it hard to believe that Disney does not have final say in releasing any extended version of the film.
