It's funny how the little promotion Doctor Who got in the 70's and 80's (in the United States) was enough to cement Tom Baker in as THE definitive Doctor Who here.
If you asked any old person who Doctor Who was they'd say "the guy with the scarf"Comment

It was all about Baker on PBS when I was a kid. But then I saw Pertwee episodes in college . Still, I agree with you Mikey.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

well he was the Doctor through the seventies for the most part. yeah, we only got Who on PBS, sporadically at best. for me it was always either Baker or Pertwee so as a result to this day those two are my favesComment

Nice figure of Mr. Baker. Shame they didn't give him an interchangeable hand with his index finger up so he could do his infamous "who knows" gesture...sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.Comment
