Dr Who Logo from Sci Fi Channel

Just wondering...
Directed at people not in the US ....
This logo is ALWAYS used on the Sci Fi Channel to advertise the New Series from Season-1 up until today.

It's basically classic style fonts with a shadow of the Doctor standing in front of the O in WhO

Is this logo only used in the US ?

I never seen it anywhere else including the official BBC Who site.

Certainly one i've never seen before...I like it...I like it alot...reminiscent of the S.H.A.D.O. logo.

They've been using it here (in the US) all the way back to the Eccleston days.

It never dawned on me until today, I never see this logo on the offical BBC Who website.

Also, I never see it on CBC or BBC America either.

Is there a picture/still frame image that is used at the beginning of the Ad Breaks ?
If so, what's it look like ?

Over here the show is on BBC so the show is continuous.

As we pay the TV licence for the BBC shows, why do we then have to
pay (full price) if we want those shows on DVD ? Shouldn't they be much cheaper ?

No still images. if any thing they'll show the normal UK logo.

Yes we do ... about 2-3 minutes of commercials after about every 10 minutes of the show.
Also, having seen both British versions and USA versions, I can see some stuff has been cut out of the British versions to make extra USA commercial time....

Not to get political, but imo -- in todays cable/satellite world, the TV licence fee in the UK is really nuts.

Somebody is really making big bucks off the masses keeping that alive.

Does some of your tax dollars go to them ?
If so, Why ?
In this day and age ... even the Queen herself ...
What does she/ the family actually do -- besides occasionally wave to the crowds

Yes i think some of the Tax goes to the Royal Family,the buildings they live in,why i really don't know,as they are Minted (Lots of Dollars) and don't really have to pay for anything

The Queen does open Parliment on state opening,awards people with Knighthoods,MBEs,OBEs.Likes Corgi dogs,Oh she also WAVES

Some of the other Royal Family do help charties and Prince Charles has an organic farm and new shop (store) selling things made and grown on his estate.

No and yes the Queen is classed as Head of State and The Commonwealth but the PM and the House of Commons run the country.

Also the Queen owns all of the Land in England.
When we buy a house/land we are in affect leasing it from her.
She could if she so wishes kick all of us (commoners) out of our homes.

I think the Royal family and those who benefit from our taxes should be
drastically down sized IMO

Yes without getting political here,they should not benefit from are taxes if they can support themselves not just the Royals.Oh i think the Queen watches Dr Who too
