I don't think he's attached, it's a serious tent pole franchise movie with Marky Mark.

The Mark Wahlberg-led remake of The Six Million Dollar Man, The Six Billion Dollar Man, has been scheduled for a December 2017 release.

My biggest prob is you know they are going to go with the current trend of artificial microbiology technology.

For me that's just not as fun as wires and gears.

There are just certain characters you cannot recast, because they are so iconic.
Recasting Steve is like trying to cast a new Fonz or a new BA Baracus from A Team.
No one will fill the shoes of Lee Majors in this role.

THIS! I really sincerely hope they keep his bionics within the realm of believable technology. One of the aspects that made the original SMDM so great was Steve coming to terms with the artificial nature of his bionics. He truly was part man, part machine. And despite his amazing abilities, he also had his vulnerabilities...(extreme cold, etc.) His limbs could be damaged. They could malfunction. I think it's vitally important to retain that aspect of the character, and I hope the filmmakers realize it too.

Six Billion seems way to high. I wish they would call it the Bionic Man instead. Or keep the Six Million Dollar Man title and have six million be the amount it costs each time they send him out on a mission for repairs, upgrades, special equipment, etc. I do hope it's good though, I read the Kevin Smith script years ago and it wasn't bad, just needed a re-write or two to bring things in line.
